Yet that was not where I was. The forest around me was that of home, at once familiar and alien: I knew those trees, those paths, I knew them as well as the back of my hand, but ... there was something off - something strange in the air. And it was not the thin, gray fog that enveloped the bases of the trunks, or the moonless but still strangely bright night.
