– AMELIA “f**k” I groaned as I woke up. My head was a throbbing, aching mess, and even the sound of my own voice felt like a sharp spear driving through my skull. What the hell is going on? I opened my eyes, taking in my surroundings: it was dark, but not completely so, and I could make out a chair, two doors, and a window. As my senses slowly came back to me, I realized I was sleeping on a hard, cold, concrete floor – with no mattress, a pillow, or even a blanket in sight.
