CHAPTER EIGHT LOGAN Seeing the defeated expression on Kayla’s face as she sits down next to me and Herman on the couch makes me realize the extra stress she’s now under. I know I probably added to that and seeing the way it’s affecting her, I feel like even more of a jackass than before. “Kayla…” I begin, but the words get stuck in my throat.
