Cassandra glanced at the wall clock. It's already midnight. This is what she's waiting for. Her parents are already asleep and she can leave now. She and the real Herdon was able to talk on the phone and they both decided to leave the town together. Herdon managed to hide from the cops. He was hiding not far from there.
She quietly walked out of the house. But Mrs. Elaine saw her when she used the bathroom. She was alerted that her daughter was carrying a bag so she immediately called Herdon to tell him that Cassandra left.
Cassandra saw the car from afar where the real Herdon was waiting for her. Herdon stepped down from the car and they hugged each other; crying into each other's shoulders.
"We need to go," Herdon said.
Herdon sped up the car so they can leave the town before sunrise
