The Morning After

The soft light of dawn crept into the room sipping through the curtain like a golden whisper.
Her eyes flutter open slowly. Her entire body ached as if she had been run over by a car the night before. No part of her body was left with strength, especially her hand and feet, which were aching limp.
Then she felt it. A strong arm wrapped around her waist. And a soft breath against the back of her neck.
She turned her head and glanced at the man next to her. The sleeping face had such lovely characteristics, he look younger like this, less guarded, less cruel.
But this didn't prevent iris from rolling her eyes at him, because no matter how attractive this man was it still couldn't mask up his innate nature of being a beast. Seeing the various size of discoloration he made on her body, it's appear as if her skin had turned palette.
Everything from last night came rushing back like a wave.
Her cheek flushed with heat.
She slid out of bed quietly, clutching the sheet against her chest. Her legs ached faintly, there was a soreness between her thigh.
Their clothes was scattered across the room. She quickly gather her clothes in her arms and walked to the bathroom her heart thundered in her chest with every step, terrified he might wake up.
Once the door was shut behind her, she quickly locked it with shanking hands.
She leaned against the wall and finally let out the breath she's been holding.
Then she looked at herself in the mirror.
Her hair was a mess. Her eyes looked swollen, her lips was slightly bruised from the kisses there was a hickey mark on her collarbone.
She turned on the shower.
The sound of water filled the bathroom, and she quickly stepped under it quickly the water was hot, too hot but she didn't mind. it's felt like a punishment she deserved.
When she stepped out of the bathroom she quickly dried off in silence and dressed in her wrinkled uniform it's clung to her damp skin. Her uniform smelled of cologne.
She didn't even bother to fix her hair.
She didn't want to look beautiful.
She just wanted to disappear.
She looked at the man on the bed he was still asleep.
She picked up her shoes and tiptoed toward the door.
So she opened the door and left.
She walked through the quiet hallway, her heels held in one hand, the cold tiles pressing against her feet with each steps.
Her heart pounded as she pass through the wall lamp, their light was too clear and too revealing. She didn't dare look up at the security camera or into any reflection surface. She bowed her head like a sneaking away from the scene of her own mistake.
She felt sore on her body and soul.
Everything was quite.
No footsteps.
No staff.
She had slipped out just in time.
She reached the staff corridor, her breath finally slowing. Her heart was still pounding, but at least she is almost out.
The morning shift had already started. Vivian, the bright-eyed young waitress with a red lipstick and her life in order, passed her on the way in.
She glance at iris and smile "Good morning... you are done, right"?
Iris nodded quickly. "Yeah. Long night. I'm going home."
Vivian smiled and disappear into service the elevator.
She pushed the exit door open and walked out into the still morning air. She didn't wait for taxi, she couldn't sit still not when his scent still clung to her.
So she walked.
Down the wide and clean street, pastry bakery shop open their shutters. Past newspaper vendor arranging the headlines.
"What do I do? she kept asking herself.
She couldn't stop replaying it.
She wrapped her arms around herself as the wind picked up. Her teeth lightly chattered. She didn't even brought her jacket.
She just needed to go home.
Ten more minutes passed. Finally she made it to her apartment she climbed the stairs to the second floor and unlocked the door.
It's was dark inside she dropped her bag on the table, and stood in the small living room. the silence rang in her ears. She stared at nothing for a long time.
Then, she slowly walked to the bathroom.
She took out her uniform and dropped it on the floor. she stood under the water letting the heat water burn her red skin.
