The rain completely soaked through Elaine's clothes.
Dragging her drenched body back to the dorm, she only wanted to take a hot shower and wash away the miserable mess she was in.
Just then, her phone rang.
It was a message from her roommate. She said she was in class and needed Elaine to bring her some things, as she had started her period.
Without thinking too much about it, Elaine grabbed the items and rushed back into the pouring rain in her soaked clothes.
When she reached the restroom indicated, she knocked on the door several times.
No one answered.
Just as she turned around to call her roommate, someone suddenly blocked her path.
It was Richard Davidson, a professor.
He raised his brows with a nasty grin, rubbing his hands together as he slowly stepped closer and cornered her against the wall.
"Well, if it isn't Elaine," he sneered. "Fancy running into you here."
His eyes roamed shamelessly over her body, the disgusting smile on his face making her skin crawl.
"I saw those comics on the forum," he said with a low whistle. "You've got one hell of a figure."
He reached out toward her, his tone oily and revolting.
"Why are you soaked like a drowned rat? Come on, let me help dry you off."
This man was a well-known creep on campus. He constantly harassed female students, but his connections ran deep, so nobody could touch him.
Elaine never imagined she would run into him today.
Panicking, she quickly pulled out her phone with trembling hands and called Simon.
"What, trying to call the cops?" the man sneered.
With one slap, he knocked the phone onto the floor. Then, he grabbed her clothes and violently tore them open.
"No, don't!" Elaine cried out in terror.
In the middle of her panic, she suddenly spotted a familiar figure outside the hallway.
It was Simon.
"Simon, save me! Mmgh!"
She desperately screamed his name, but the man behind her clamped a hand tightly over her mouth.
Simon seemed to sense something. His footsteps paused slightly as his eyes casually drifted in her direction.
Just as their gazes were about to meet, Suzy suddenly grabbed his arm.
Rising onto her tiptoes, she kissed him softly.
Elaine clearly saw the tips of Simon's ears turn red almost instantly.
He did not push her away.
He did not even avoid her kiss.
At that moment, Elaine felt as though someone had ripped her heart clean in half.
Watching the two of them lean against each other as they walked away, she slowly closed her eyes.
Then, grabbing the nearest object beside her, she smashed it hard against the man.
Bang!
The man crashed to the ground instantly.
Elaine fled the place like her life depended on it.
After returning to the dorm, she changed out of her soaked clothes and wrapped herself tightly in a blanket.
"Just sleep," she whispered to herself weakly. "Everything will be better after I wake up..."
But the loud chatter and commotion outside the girls' dorm made it impossible for her to calm down.
Not long after, a middle-aged woman with red eyes suddenly kicked the dorm door open.
Without asking any questions, she stormed straight toward Elaine and raised her hand.
Slap!
A loud slap landed viciously across Elaine's face.
Five bright red finger marks instantly appeared on her pale cheek.
Several school administrators followed behind the woman.
Pointing at Elaine, the woman screamed hysterically, "This is the kind of student your college accepts? She seduced a married man and hurt my husband! Why are you still keeping a student like this around? Expel her immediately!"
The girls' dorm exploded into chaos.
Outside the room, crowds gathered layer upon layer, all eager to watch the drama unfold.
The woman held up a video in front of everyone. It showed Elaine being harassed by that professor in the restroom earlier that day.
But after the woman twisted the story with a few exaggerated lies, Elaine was painted as a shameless girl willing to do anything to graduate.
At the same time, Elaine received a text message.
Suzy: [So, how does it feel to be condemned by everyone?]
Standing within the crowd, Suzy slowly lifted the phone in her hand with a smug smile.
Elaine's entire body shook violently.
Looking at the mocking curve of Suzy's lips, she immediately understood.
It was her.
Like a madwoman, Elaine shoved through the crowd and grabbed Suzy tightly by the wrist.
"It was you, wasn't it?" Elaine shouted, her voice trembling with rage. "You set me up on purpose! You sent me those messages to lure me to the restroom, then secretly filmed everything!"
Suzy's eyes instantly reddened with tears.
"What are you talking about?" she said pitifully. "I don't understand anything. You're hurting me..."
Just then, Simon pushed through the crowd.
Without hesitation, he violently shoved Elaine away.
Caught off guard, she stumbled backward.
Bang!
She crashed hard onto the floor, pain exploding through her body like her bones had shattered.
"That's enough, Elaine!" Simon glared down at her coldly from above.
"You falsely accused Suzy of stealing your thesis before, and now that your own behavior is disgusting, you're still trying to blame someone else?"
Seeing the situation spiral out of control, the school administrators desperately tried to disperse the crowd.
"Enough already! Everyone, go back to your rooms!"
Then, they hurriedly tried calming the woman down.
"Please don't get emotional. The college will definitely handle this matter seriously..."
"Handle it seriously?" Simon suddenly stepped forward.
He held Suzy protectively in his arms as though she were some frightened little rabbit.
"If Elaine can falsely accuse Suzy once, she'll do it a second time and a third time."
His cold voice rang through the hallway. Every word cut into Elaine's heart like a knife twisting deeper and deeper.
"I suggest suspending Elaine from school and delaying her graduation."
Under Simon's influence, students across the entire school joined together and reported Elaine.
Soon, she received an official suspension notice and was ordered to move out of the dormitory immediately.
In a daze, Elaine returned home and collapsed onto the sofa, her mind completely blank.
Then, her eyes landed on the ring in her hand.
It was the ring Simon had personally given her.
Slowly, she pulled it off and threw it into the trash can.
"I don't want it anymore," she whispered hoarsely. "Simon, I don't want to have anything to do with you again."
