He lost it. Simon tried to rush in like a madman, completely unaware of how unhinged he looked right now. That usually calm and cold face of his had twisted into something almost savage. A firefighter stepped in and blocked him. "Hey, student," the man said firmly, "it's dangerous up there. Don't go in and make things worse for us." But Simon was not hearing any of it.
