He lost it.
Simon tried to rush in like a madman, completely unaware of how unhinged he looked right now.
That usually calm and cold face of his had twisted into something almost savage.
A firefighter stepped in and blocked him.
"Hey, student," the man said firmly, "it's dangerous up there. Don't go in and make things worse for us."
But Simon was not hearing any of it.
He struggled hard, shouting until his voice broke.
"Let me go! Elaine is still up there! Elaine is still up there!"
The staff kept repeating their warning in a strict, official tone.
"If you force your way in again, we will have to use restraint measures."
"Restraint measures?" Simon snapped, his eyes red as blood. He looked like a beast completely out of control.
