I ring Lauren's doorbell, nervously waiting for her to answer. I need to tell her our rescue plans, but I'm sure she will think we are nuts and try to talk us out of it. I just have to make sure she won't tell her mother, or my grandparents for that matter. She opens the door smiling that thousand-watt smile and I'm not sure what my name is anymore let alone what I was thinking just before she opened the door.
