This waiting is the worst. I walk over to an outcropping of boulders and sit down on one of them, pulling my knees up to my chest. I pull out my phone to check the time. Geez, it's only been like two minutes since Steve and my brother headed down the path to the mysterious building. Seems more like two hours. My phone has no signal so I can't update Tay and Colt on anything. This blows. I take mom's hair clip out of my pack and turn it over and over in my hand. This is her favorite one. It was a stocking stuffer one year from us kids She's had it for years now. How it's not broken yet is beyond me.
