Adam woke staring into the darkness. Turning his head, he looked around felt confused. He knew he was in a bed, but not his bed. He stared back at the ceiling of the room and everything came back to him in a rush. He glanced to his side and felt a sigh of relieve. Sarah was lying on her side with her back to him. He pulled himself close to Sarah wanting to make sure she was real. He heard her moan slightly and nestle against his chest. Adam wrapped his arm around her body and held her close. He lightly kissed the back of her head and inhaled the sweet fragrance of her golden locks. He thought how they had almost lost each other. Through all odd, they had managed to stop the fallen. 'More like you did, my love.' Adam thought. "And you better not forget it." Sarah murmured in a sleepy voice. "Still reading minds?" Adam chuckled. Sarah rolled over and faced Adam. He saw that her hazel eyes held more of a golden hue. She smiled, leaned close to him, and kissed him softly on the lips. "Slowly I'm beginning to understanding my powers." Sarah replied breaking the kiss. "I feel like a fish out of water." Adam leaned in and kissed her again. His tongue parted her lips and found her tongue. Sarah pulled herself closer and ran her bandaged hand through his hair. Adam gently rolled her over and lied between her spread legs. Sarah sensing his hunger and used her hands to pull down his linen pants and pulled up her nightgown. "Take me Adam." Sarah said breathlessly as she stopped kissing him. Adam pushed his hips forward and entered Sarah with one smooth motion. Sarah moaned lightly and thrust her hips to meet his thrust. Once deep inside her, he leaned over and kissed her again. Sarah kissed him back feverously. She moved her hips against his urging him to move. Adam getting the hint pulled out and thrust himself deep into again. Sarah gripped his back with her fingers. Her hand ran along a scar on his back. It was the scar from Lilith's knife. 'That evil woman got what she deserved in the end.' Sarah thought. "Are you alright Sarah?" Adam asked looking at her oddly. "Yes," Sarah said bring herself back to reality, "It is hard to forget what happened down there a week ago." "Shall I stop?" Adam asked with concern in his voice. "No, I want you badly." Sarah pleaded, "Take me." Adam smirked and ran his hands down her back, cupped her bottom and lifted her hips off the ground. Sarah gripped the pillow behind her head. Adam gripped her bottom tightly, pulled himself out, and plunged deep into her. Sarah bit her lower lip enjoying the fullness of his hardness deep in her. Adam did not stop. He pulled out again and thrust his entire length into her again. Sarah thrust her hips back at him meeting his hard thrust. Slowly she felt warmth spread through her body and pleasure spread from the tips of her toes and up her body. She urged him to thrust harder. "Yes, yes," Sarah hissed though clenched teeth, "Harder." Adam sensing her closeness, thrust harder. He heard his hips smacking hard against hers. Sarah let out a cry of pleasure as he rammed himself deep into her again. Her body shook and electric tingles of pleasure ran up her spine. She arched her back gripping the pillow tightly as pleasure flooded her body. Sarah felt Adam's thrust become shorter and faster as her climax washed over her. Pulling her body up, wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his hips. Adam kissed Sarah as he felt his manhood slid deeper into her. Sarah could not believe the fullness of his hardness deep in her. Adam plunged himself deeply into repeatedly. With a loud groan and one finally hard thrust, Sarah felt him climax within her. Sarah held herself tightly against him as he broke the kiss. Adam gritted his teeth against the pleasure that spilled from his body. Adam lied Sarah down on the bed and pulled himself out of her. He lied down next to Sarah and kissed her again. Sarah flinched slightly as she opened her hands. "Are you ok?" Adam asked quickly as he stopped kissing her. "I'm fine," Sarah said looking at her bandaged hands. She saw that the bandages were soaked with blood, "I think I opened the wounds again." "I will re-bandage them." Adam said climbing out of bed and pulling up his linen pants. "You need to stop re-opening them and let them heal." "Well if someone would stop making me feel so good. Maybe they will heal." Sarah said with a sarcastic smile. Adam ignored her response. Grabbing some fresh linen bandages, he walked back over to the bed. Sarah sat up, pulled down her nightgown, and held out her hands. Adam removed the bloody bandages and exam the cuts. They did look better than they had from a week ago. At the time she had been lucky to even been able to use them. The knife's edge had cut deeply into her hands, almost severing the tendons. Adam wet one of the linen cloths and wiped away the blood. Sarah flinched slightly as the water stung. "Sorry, I did not mean to hurt you." Adam said with a pained voice. "It's alright." Sarah said keeping her hands still, "It took me by surprise." Adam wrapped new linen cloths around her hands and secured them. He kissed each palm and Sarah giggled. She lied back down in bed and Adam climbed in next to her. She cuddled close to him and laid her head on his chest. Adam wrapped an arm around her and heard her moan lightly. "I find it odd that your hands and the wound over your heart are healing slowly." Adam said in a drowsy voice. "I find it strange too." Sarah said stifling a yawn, "It must be the knife." She felt a shutter run through her body at the thought of the evil blade. "At least it is over and the knife is buried where no one can get it." Adam said with a yawn. "Can you let me sleep now?" Sarah replied, but did not answer him. "You're the one who woke me up." Adam chuckled trying to ignore her no response to the statement. 'She must still be tired.' Adam thought with a shrug. Sarah did not respond. Adam looked down and saw her eyes closed. He heard her breathing lightly as she slept. He ran his fingers through her hair and she smiled. Something in her hair caught his eye. A lock of hair was now a raven black color. 'That is odd.' Adam thought, 'When did she get this.' Adam tried to think back. 'We have been here for a week and I never seen that color in her hair.' Adam reminded himself to ask Sarah about it in the morning, but right now, he felt too tired to think what to ask. Closing his eyes, he fell asleep. Adam opened his eyes slowly to sound of chirping birds and sunlight drifting into the bedroom. He looked at the side of the bed and noticed it empty. He heard Samuel talking and Sarah laughing from the other room. The drifting smells of breakfast made his stomach growl. Sitting up in bed, he stretched, stood up, and pulled on a shirt. He walked out to the bedroom and into the main room of the small cottage. "Well look who finally woke up." Sarah said grinning, her voice full of rich happiness. He saw she wore a forest green dress, which left her arms bare. He remembered the lock of hair form last night and looked closely at her golden hair. He could not see the raven black lock among her golden hair. "What is the matter?" Sarah asked with a look of concern. "Nothing," Adam lied, "I can't get enough of you." "Adam," Sarah said with a stern voice, "What is the matter?" "Yes," Samuel added, "What is bothering you?" Adam looked down at Samuel and saw him sitting at the table drinking ale. With a deep sigh Adam spoke, "Last night when you fell asleep. A lock of your hair was a different color and I..." He stopped in midsentence when he saw Sarah advert her eyes looking ashamed. Slowly she ran her hand through her hair and a lock of hair changed to raven black. She lowered her head to look at the ground and the lock fell in front of her face. "Sarah," Adam said with a stunned voice, "What happened?" "I'm not sure." Sarah replied feeling tears run down her cheeks. She used the back of her hand to wipe one away. "I discovered the lock of hair when I awoke the next day after we left Salem." Adam stepped close to Sarah, placed a hand under her chin, and lifted her head so he could see her hazel golden eyes. "Whatever it is we will discover the meaning together." Adam explained in a soft voice. "I'm sorry Adam," Sarah sobbed bursting into fresh tears, "It feels wrong and evil. When I touch it, I see the faces of the sisters I killed. I am afraid that I am turning into a monster or something evil." Adam hugged her close to his body and felt her tremble. "Don't think that way." Adam insisted, "You have a pure heart and you are strong." He used a hand to wipe away the tears from her eyes and kissed her lightly on the lips. "I'm sorry I hid it from you, Adam. I did not know what to do." Sarah apologized, "Are you hungry?" "I can understand why you did it." Adam replied, "No need to apologize, don't hide the lock of hair and yes I'm very hungry." Sarah's demeanor changed and her spirits lifted. She pulled herself away from Adam and lifted her hand. Plates, forks, and food floated towards the table and settled lightly on the table. "You seem to be getting use to your powers." Samuel said with a grunt. "I am," Sarah said with a bright smile, "But I feel there is more to learn." She winked at him. Samuel shook his head and took a long drink from his cup. After a wonderful breakfast, Samuel pulled out a pipe, lit it and after a few puffs he spoke. "Well everything has calmed down in Salem." Samuel explained, "The Covent was destroyed when the hidden chamber collapsed, Joshua's burned body was found by the townspeople." "What did they do with Joshua's body?" Sarah whispered. Adam saw her eyes fill with tears. Sarah told Adam and Samuel what Lilith had done to Joshua. No matter what Adam said, Sarah felt responsible for his mutilation and death. She had the power to stop Lilith, but failed to act. "The town gave him a Christian burial." Samuel answered Sarah. "Joshua was a good man." Sarah said looking down at her empty plate. Everyone sat in silence for a moment for Joshua. "So," Samuel cleared his throat breaking the awkward silence, "If you two want to return to Salem. You should be safe." "I think we like it here in the south." Adam replied glancing over at Sarah, "It is quiet here in the forest and Sarah feels at home with nature." "I do feel at home here." Sarah added, "The forest feels right, if that makes sense." "If that is what you want." Samuel said with shrug and puffed on his pipe. "A few things still trouble me." Adam continued. "What is still troubling you?" Samuel asked. "First, what stopped the knife when Joshua was ordered to kill Sarah and how the heck did you know Celestia?" Adam asked. "I'm not sure what stopped the knife the first time." Samuel answered as he rubbed his chin. "I saw the golden light protect Sarah's heart when the knife came down. Maybe Sarah did it." They both looked at Sarah for a response. "I did not do it, but Azazel told me that no mere mortal could kill me. It had to be Celestia." "When did that happen?" Adam asked in confusion, "You never left the altar." "It was as the knife came down." Sarah explained, "The room swam in front of my eyes and then I was in the resting place of the Nephilim, but that does not explain how the light appeared." "Something stronger than the shields broke through." Samuel replied, "Something like blood for instance." "Wait a moment." Adam blurted out holding up his hand, "When I was dying my hand touched something sticky and wet near the barrier. I thought it was my blood, but my blood was mingling with whatever was on the ground." Sarah gasped in surprise as she hand flew to her mouth. "It was my blood." "What are you talking about?" Samuel and Adam said at the same time. "The night I was taken, I dropped the cup and a shard of the cup pierced my toe." Sarah explained lowering her hand, "Then as Celestia led me down the tunnel. I scrapped my toe against the obsidian and I think it started bleeding again." Sarah shuttered and hugged herself remembering that moment. "And Adam's hand must have made contact with that blood." Samuel finished. Sarah smiled, stood up, and wrapped her arms around Adam kissing him. "Will you two stop that?" Samuel groaned as he shook his head. Sarah laughed and sat down in Adam's lap. "He is truly my guardian." "I guessing you want to know about my involvement with Celestia." Samuel said. "That was my second question." Adam replied. Samuel seemed to age ten years, "We were once lovers." Samuel said. "What happened?" Sarah asked feeling Samuel's pain. "I never knew she could love anyone." "To my surprise, I was a pawn in her game." Samuel added, "She was searching for something, which had been passed down in my family for generation." "An ancient scroll, which only a certain person could read," Samuel took a puff of his pipe and continued, "I studied that scroll for ages, but could not understand the language. Then one day Celestia shows up and against my feelings of mistrust I fall in love with that creature." Samuel clenched his fist, "At first everything seems normal, and life is great. Then she sees me with the scroll and asks if she could look it. When I refuse, she attacks me, stabbing me here." Samuel pulled aside his shirt to show the knife scar close to his heart. "What happened next?" Sarah asked in a hushed whisper. "I did the only thing I could do. I threw the scroll into the fire." Samuel smiled as the shocked expressions on their faces. "I passed out afterwards and either Celestia felt I was no longer a threat or I was dead. I woke in an empty house." "And you have been hunting her ever since." Adam added. "Correct." Samuel agreed leaning back in the chair. "She was up to something that I felt would endanger humanity and I needed to find out what it was." "But you know what was written upon that scroll." Sarah said quietly, "You knew what I had to do that night. Azazel told me I had to make the choice, but you also knew about the choice." "Sarah you are a clever woman." Samuel said and Sarah beamed, "I was able to re-create the scroll later and here it is." Samuel reached into a bag and pulled out a piece of rolled parchment. He unrolled it on the table and Sarah looked down at the picture with odd language. "This is angelic script." Sarah said, "I saw this script before, but I can't read it." She looked at the picture for moment. The picture showed two people facing each other with a knife between them. Half of the knife was black and the other half was white. Sarah looked at the two people and discovered that they had wings. One drawing had black wings and the other had white wings. "Would you look at that?" Sarah pointed onto the parchment, "The black half of the knife is pointing at the person with the white wings and the white half of the knife is pointing at the person with black wings. It looks as..." Sarah stopped in midsentence and stood up staring into nothing. "Are you alright, Sarah?" Adam asked with concern, "You look pale." "Could it be?" Sarah said to no one in particular. "She said I need to figure it out and Azazel kept calling me child." "Sarah what are you talking about?" Adam asked again, "You are not making any sense." "No Adam it all makes sense, the angelic script, Azazel, the fallen, the angel who rebelled against Azazel and was left for dead." Sarah said quickly, "Don't you see the pattern." "I'm bonded to the fallen angels, because..." Sarah stopped again. "Because what, Sarah?" Adam said in confusion, but he saw Samuel smirk. Sarah stood back excitedly and closed her eyes tightly in concentration. As first nothing happened, then she felt warmth spread through her body as if a blanket had been wrapped around her. She opened her eyes and suddenly everything made sense. She looked at Adam. He stared at her with widen eyes and an open mouth. She felt a strange pressure on her back. turning her head she her own eyes widen. Protruding from her back were two magnificent white wings. "What does this mean?" Adam said slowly finding his voice. "Celestia and I are the descendants of the angel who rebelled against Azazel. Azazel knew that he still lived and he placed a curse on him." Sarah explained, "I remember what he said, 'One day we will be free my brothers, one who is pure of heart will free us with her death. She will be deceived by one who is like her.' What I did not hear was." Sarah paused to remember the rest, "it went, 'the brother who betrayed us will father the two, and one will make the choice.' That was the rest of the curse." "So this means you made the choice to live and kill you sister." Adam finished. "At the time I thought I felt sorrow for the loss of a mother, because she did take care of me, but it was sorrow for the loss of a sister." Sarah said quietly and wiped away a tear. She made the wings disappear and sat back down on Adam's lap. "I killed my own sister, but the question remains. Did I stop the fallen from coming into this world?" "It would seem that good triumphed over evil." Samuel added, "I would say yes, since the knife is buried and you are the only descendant." Everyone sat in silence reflecting on the new events. Adam laid his hand on top of Sarah's and gave it a gently squeeze. "What do you plan on doing now, Samuel?" Adam asked breaking the silence. "I want to travel for a while." Samuel replied, "I think I have earned it." "Well don't travel too far." Sarah said with a small smile. She was still glowing form the new found knowledge of her existence. "You don't need me around. The threat is over and you have your guardian." Samuel chuckled. "Well a godfather should be close to his family." Sarah explained. Both Adam and Samuel looked at Sarah with dumbstruck expressions. "What are you saying, Sarah?" Adam asked cautiously. "I'm pregnant my love." Sarah replied placing a hand on her belly. Adam laughed and wrapped his arms around Sarah. He kissed her as she kissed him back. Tears ran down her face. Breaking the kiss, Sarah said, "We are finally together and nothing can keep us apart ever again." Thousands of miles away deep in the coldest undiscovered south, a herd of penguins march through the frozen hostile lands. They keep close to protect themselves from the cold winds of the Antarctica. Sensing a change in the environment, the penguins break their well-formed ranks and scatter. A loud sound echo's thought the barren white landscape with the sound of a whip cracking. A huge crack appears in the frozen ground as if two hands ripped it apart. Steam escapes from the crack in a loud hiss. From the crack, a hand appears gripping the edge of the hard icy ground. A shiny metal stake protrudes from the wrist of the hand as a gut wrenching scream bellows forth from the crack. The End?
