Koo koo doo koo! koo doo koo!....... The alarm of an annoying rooster is once again set up by my younger brother three year old Danny. Oi shut it off Danny!, I scoffed under my sleepy breath. Kuku ? Carry ? , my mom shouts from the kitchen as she continues making my tiffin box. Uh oh!, she is still sleeping, Danny my little brother mumbled. Kuku?, get up. You are going to be late, my mom shouted walking back and forth in front of my bedroom door. That is so much good. Can I just marry you?, I kept mumbling in my sleep. No... No...No Kuku?, Danny shouted as he nibbled his nose while playing with his soccer ball. Ouch! Chiku?, I muttered with my sleepy voice as he woke me up with his soccer ball that hit right onto my face. Back with your senses girl? Now get up, will you?, he said. Stop talking like an adult, I scoffed. Aww, but you're still so cute aww, I curled his cheeks as he started whining. I got up with my swollen face and my messy hair just like an animal from the wild. The drastic changes that occur while I sleep is dangerously funny when I see myself on the mirror the next day. I'm neither a doll face nor an ugly ass. I'm in the middle just like a careless girl who roams around the woods, everywhere that keeps herself busy from the things others care about. After washing up, its the time for me to get dressed. Crying for variations in my outfits is not in my blood. I prefer wearing uniform. Cause I don't need to worry about my clothes being repetitive. All I care about is being happy, earning money and passing out my finals at school. All set, ready for the breakfast. But before that let me introduce myself. I'm Careen Hutchins. I'll keep it short for now. Carry! Carry!, my mom shouts her lungs out as she calls my name. Would you stop doing that? I'm here mother, I scoffed as it nearly hit my peculiar ears while eating my breakfast. Nice one Mrs. Hutchins, you're the best cook, I said. Mrs. Hutchins?, my mother asks. Mother okay?, I said as I wired my books and lunch box to my bag and the empty milk bottles kept in a paper bag. What about the delivery of the milk bottles? You haven't forgotten right?, my dad said as he took out my cycle from the garage. It has started rusting. You'll need a new one, he said as he kept dusting it. How could you do this to your son in law father?, I said with a dramatic effect on my voice. Father? Me?, he said. Are you addressing me?, he asks with a funny question mark formed on his face. What? My son in law?, he continuously asks confusingly. My long term boyfriend remember?, I said as I nodded my head towards the cycle. He's been with me since forever, I said as I remembered the happy memories with my dad when he gifted me this cycle. Oh my god. Don't tell me you still remember that Carry?, he asked in a surprised manner. Oh yes I do hahaha, I said as we both laughed when the memories linked to the cycle stroked our mind that I have till now. Come here. My daughter oh you're still such a small girl, gawd!, he said as we hugged each other in our old school gangsta style where he used to pretend being a gangsta with me when I used to be young. Bye dad, I waved as I continued walking to the woods with my cycle. Call me when you reach there kuku, dad shouted from behind as he waved me goodbye to the school. Okay!, I replied back. This is the term where people use such things in the process of...... The phone gets interrupted with a call. Unplugging my earphones I attended the call. Hello? Grandma!, Yes I'm on my way. Uh huh Oh sure I'll be there in five minutes. I'll be there, I said to grandma and continued walking faster with my cycle as the road on the mountain makes it harder to ride the it upwards. I walked faster and faster until I reach the end of it, to the Daisy Los House. My grandma who lives far away in the woods. As I reached near the check post, the road ahead is a plain path to her house. Though the place contains stick and stones but its more convenient to ride a cycle as it has a straight road. Winter's up, the snow seems to cover up a lot here too. Nothing much difference when it comes to snowing. We experience the same situation. The area being covered with white snow is the only problem that makes it even harder for me to come up to the houses for delivery. The directions anyway makes me nauseous and now the snow on top of it. But hey I'm improving! As I rode ahead, I noticed the smoke of fire burning up from the backside of the house. I felt nauseous and sweaty when I visioned something I don't seem remember. Everything started getting blurred, the trees, the house, the place. It felt terrifying and worriedly terrorized. Soon as I reached I left my cycle in the middle of the road searching for my grandma. Grandma? Grandma?, I shouted as I unlocked the main gate of the house. The horrified feeling that I had was an exception. I never had that feeling going on before. I thought the house is set on fire. Hey there Carry!, I heard the old granny's voice mentioning my name. Oh? Okay? What is actually happening here grandmother?, I asked as it was more than confusing for me to handle. Are you sweating young lady?, she said as she kept the dry woods aside. No I'm not, I replied. I happened to see the dry leaves and woods on the backside formed in a mess. Its just that they are now used for the born fire. What am I going to do with this anyway? In this winter its better for a bonfire child, she said. Uh huh! Shall I call my family then?, seems like a big feast going to be held here soon, I said as I went onto help her arranging the dry woods in the case. Well you're welcomed here honey, she replied. But don't bring your father, he is more like an unknown person to me once opens his mouth, she said. Oh grandma you two are still stuck on that occasion? Oh come on, he told you he remembered, didn't he?, I asked her as she looked gloomy. But unfortunately forgot the very next day duh!, she scoffed like a scary kitten. Grandma!, I pleased her as I filled the empty milk bottles. I know I know. I was just kidding, she said with a big laugh formed on her face. You are such a sassy woman, aren't you?, I said as I laughed along too. I just like to nik him off sometimes. Its funny seeing his face pleasing for forgiveness to me, she said. Like mother like son!, I said. Now go on, leave its already 7:00 you have to reach by 8 at school Carry, she said as she noticed the clock ticking. Okay, I'm off to school then, I replied. Get back here after school alright! Don't be late Carry!, she said. Alright!, I waved as I replied back. And deliver the milk bottle to the new costumer too. I'll message his address to your phone, she shouted. I nodded and rode on my cycle for the milk delivery. The message arrived right after 10 minutes. It was the address of the new costumer. The Carlson's house, nearby the waterfall. Its a great place. But who chooses to live there being too alienated, was the first thought that crossed my mind. Its like a place out of the town. A long way to go. But those directions god I'm leaving this to you. Please don't make me wander, I mumbled as it was far away from here. The roaring sound of the wind hit my neck leaving a cold chilling sensation of touch. I felt unbelievably peaceful and quite. It was bright and snowy. I reached near the small route linking to the path of their house. I rushed with my cycle as I delivered the milk bottles to the rest of the addresses. Now its just the Carlson's are remaining to be delivered to. The house that comes after the small route. Who knows if they are good people? What if they kidnap me and kill? What if it is a haunted house by poltergeist? What if?, the thoughts stroked with a lightning speed through my head. I was being overly worried about my life. Gosh I don't even have a boyfriend to chase me out of the villains! Oh my god! I shouldn't I just shouldn't. But then that oldie will not leave me alive if she knows this time. My money my money my money, my grandma's usual thought continued spiraling down my head. Her money! She's not going to leave me alone if she come to know about the milk I sold to Harry as a gift, kept for the delivery. I continued muttering under my breath with my what ifs? Milkman?, the husky voice of a man made me shiver as I was busy talking to myself. Um yes a milk seller sir!, I replied as I looked towards the man standing behind me. oh yes dear! Um would you mind if you come to the house? My hands are full, you know the vegetables, its so fresh up here, the old man replied. Ya sure why not, I agreed although I didn't wanted to. He seemed old and nevertheless a nice person. I couldn't say no to him. I went up to this house 'The Carlson' and delivered the milk. The house looked hideously good looking but it was more due to the surrounding it stays. Well then! I may leave, I said as I kept the milk bottle at the corner of the balcony. I rode back as I fastened my paddler's speed. It was already 7:40 I have to reach at school until 8. As I left the small route I heard the old man's voice. 'Ayo milk seller have a good day', he shouted back from there. Thank you, I shouted back as I turned around. 'Call me Careen Sir!', I replied. Careen? Its kind off a girlish name he mumbled and said anyway okay Careen!, he smiled back with a thumbs up. As I paddled slowly I noticed the leaves, the leaves of the side by tree seemed fishy. It was slowly falling down more like abnormally as if someone is covering themselves behind it. Carry!, I heard a voice of a boy that seemed familiar to me. Woah oh oh s**t!, I shouted as I noticed the boy was none other than my school's prankster classmate Eddy who pranks people for his YouTube channel. I paddled as fast as I can as I tried to drove away from this Eddy. Seems like I'm the one next in number for his upcoming prank. Oh God how much of a burden I have to handle. Carry! Carry!, uh wait there, he shouted. No I'm not going to, I turned back as I replied. Watch out!, he shouted but it was too late. skrr! I ended up stumbled across a huge stone. Meh! Nothing seem to surprise me as I always end up getting hit into things like this, this was something I always thought everyday except a tall figure of a guy with a grey hood covering his face I encountered. I glimpsed his pink lips through a small gap between his hands covering my face. Carry? Are you alright?, Eddy came by. No I'm dead, I replied back as I noticed him coming over. Oh my god!, Eddy shouted. I know, I said as I was on the verge of crying out when I noticed my cycle. My cycle!, I cried as I looked over it lying on the other side with the my books covered in mud. And Your leg!, Eddy muttered behind my back as he kneeled down. huh my knee! Oh god my cycle and my knee!, I shouted as I realized my cycle and I were both wounded. She is quite materialistic haha, hey thanks man!, Eddy replied with an awkward smile as I'm some sort of i***t to him and thanked the guy kneeling beside me. Lets get your wound treated, Eddy said and took out his handkerchief and a bottle of water. No thank you very much, I scoffed. Oh come on now, he said and made me sit on that same big stone which I collided with. And it should be wrapped by here, he muttered. No its not how you treat it Eddy, I scoffed as I noticed how an i***t he is. Stay aside!, the guy said to Eddy as he approached towards me. Gimme the bottle!, he ordered him. Eddy handed him the water bottle looking like a confused person. Move your skirt up!, the guy said. Excuse me?, I asked as I heard him say that. Your wound! Carry!, guy said. Oh okay!, I replied and slowly moved my skirt up just a bit as it was touching on my wound. The guy knelt down and washed my wound with the water. Then after took a thick piece of cloth from his jacket and wrapped around my wound. Why not my handkerchief?, Eddy asked the guy. It was quite thin the wound might get infected, the guy replied. It should be covered with thick cloth, he said. Later get it treated by the doctor, he said to me as he got up and dusted his track pants. I nodded as a reply, drooling on, the way he carried himself. Woah he's cool. Are you able to get up?, Eddy asked as he took my books and my dearest cycle. Yes, I replied with an annoyed face. Thank you!, I said to the guy as he walked away from us showing his back he waved his hand. Who was he? Do we know him?, Eddy asked as he paddled the cycle. We? More like do I know you?, I mockingly asked as I was irritated because of him I'm late for school and ended up with this mess. Come on, now you're acting like I hired that stone out there!, he said as he rode the cycle. I won't be surprised if you did so. Nothing can be trusted when its something linked with you, I said as we were on the way to the school. Well that's true. I can't be trusted!, he said with a grin on his face. Yes you can't, I replied back as I saw him grinning from the rear view. Okay!, he said and continued paddling faster to get back to school. As we reached school, he parked my cycle and there we go again, I'm on my own and he's on his own. A Complete stranger to each other! Hey! Did you just come with her?, his friends asked him. No!, he hesitantly said as he looked at me. I don't even know him, I said and walked in to the school.
