“Babe?”
Ram frowned as he stared at Allyna’s beautiful face.
She was resting her chin on her hand, absentmindedly playing with the cellphone lying on the table.
Ram had been talking for quite some time, but it seemed as though his words were nothing more than background noise to her.
“Babe!”
Ram raised his voice slightly, hoping to get her attention.
Allyna turned and looked at him sharply, their eyes locking.
A bitter smile appeared on her lips as tears threatened to fall.
The truth was, she had heard everything Ram had been saying while she watched a television drama on the large flat-screen TV in the kitchen.
She had placed it there so that she and their housekeeper, Manang Lyn, could enjoy watching while she cooked.
“Did you really have to raise your voice at me, Ram Steven?”
