Chapter Three - What is your game?

1941 Words
Kylan   I was standing with Richard and another couple of guys who will be working with us within the new business. We were talking business and ideas. It was a good distraction for me. It was taking my mind off Nola. I didn’t like the way she had been occupying my thoughts all day.    Suddenly, I heard a laugh from behind me that piqued my interest. It was a sweet laugh, the type of laugh that would be contagious to most. I turned around, trying to find out who it belonged to. It didn’t take me long to figure it out. My eyes fell right on Nola. I should have known.    I watched her for a moment and took her in. She looked beautiful in her dress. I felt my tongue dart in and out of my mouth. I got a flashback of her in her underwear. I didn’t mean to stare at her in the bedroom, but I couldn’t help it.    Nola must have felt someone looking at her. She turned around, and her eyes soon met mine. I smiled at her, something I don’t do a lot. I wasn’t one for smiling. Nola smiled back at me nervously and tucked the hair behind her ear.    “What do you think, Kylan?”    The sound of someone’s voice pulled me away from Nola. I soon realised it was Richard talking to me. I hope he didn’t see me looking at his daughter the way I was.    “Sorry, what did you say?” I asked.    “I was asking what your thoughts are on revamping some of the hotels, modernise them?” Richard repeated.    “Yes, that sounds like a great idea,” I replied.    “Great, we shall start looking for a team next week,”    I nodded. That was fine with me. I looked around, but Nola wasn’t where I last saw her. Where did she go? I glanced around and spotted her at the table, getting herself something to eat. I believe I am hungry suddenly. I excused myself from everyone and headed straight for the table.    I came up behind her and stood closer to her than I needed to be.    “Hello, Kitten,” I whispered and rested my hand on the small of her back.    Nola shuddered under my touch.    “Hi,” she stammered out.    “You look good in that dress,”    I kept my voice low and seductive as I spoke, and I ran my fingers slowly along her back. She let out a soft moan. Nola turned to face me, her eyes searching mine in the same way as earlier. She was trying to work me out, but that will not be possible. She has no chance. No one can work me out. My walls around me are too high, and my heart is guarded, well, what I have left of one anyway.    “Kylan, what is your game? Why are you acting this way?” Nola asked.    “My Game? I don’t play games. That isn’t my style,”    It was true. I didn’t play games. I find them pointless and childish. If I want something or someone, I get it.    “Then what the hell is going on?” she snapped.    I was taken aback by her little outburst. I am not used to people talking to me like that. I don’t allow anyone to speak to me like that.    “Excuse me? I don’t appreciate your tone, Miss Nola,”    “And I don’t appreciate you messing with me,” she responded firmly.    “Who said I was messing with you? Why do you just assume that is what I am doing?”    “It doesn’t matter, Kylan,” she sighed.    I didn’t have a chance to respond to her because she rushed off. I am not done with her. I will find a way to get her alone. I don’t like people walking away from me. I watched after her and she went to join her sister and mother.    I sighed and went back to where Richard and that were.    “Come on and let me introduce you to some people,” he suggested.    I would rather not, but I would. I smiled and nodded. I followed him around as he introduced me to people, some important people when it comes to business. I smiled politely and talked when needed. This was not my thing, but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do, sometimes. I hated this part of business.    After about an hour, we were finally done. We headed over to where Alexis, Paris and Nola were standing. He slipped his arm around his wife’s waist and kissed her cheek. She smiled brightly at him.    “I hope that you don’t plan on boring Kylan all day and night with business and meeting new people. You need to allow him to enjoy himself,” Alexis said.    “No, darling, I don’t plan on boring him,” Richard laughed.    “Good,” she giggled.    I chatted with Alexis for a few minutes before she and Richard excused themselves. I stood there, slightly awkward with Paris and Nola.    “You two are like a pair of teenagers with a crush,” Paris laughed.    “Paris!” Nola whined.    “I am just saying,” she shrugged, “I am going to check on my husband and babies, you two, have fun or at least talk to one and another,”    Nola shot her a warning look; in return, she smirked and sauntered off.    Silence fell between us, an awkward one at that. Nola was looking anywhere that wasn’t me.    “You aren’t even going to look at me?”    Nola slowly turned to look at me. Her cheeks were flushed, and she was chewing nervously on her lip, the same way as earlier.    “Sorry, you, you, just make me nervous,” she whispered as she rocked back on her heels.   “I know I do,” I replied simply.    I looked around to make sure no one was looking at us. Then, when I knew it was safe, I reached for her hand and took it in mine. I used it to lead us away from everyone.    “Kylan, where are we going?”    I didn’t answer her; instead, I led us towards the bottom of the vast garden where no one was. I looked around and saw a pool house. Yes, that will do. Everyone is too busy to come down here. I pulled us inside and closed the door behind us. I finally let go of her hand.    “Kylan, why are we here?”    “Because we need to talk,”    “We do? About what?” she asked, confused.    “About whatever is going on here,” I said, pointing between us both.    “Nothing is going on between us,”    “Bullshit! I am attracted to you, and you are attracted to me,” I replied bluntly.    “Kylan, I am not what you are looking for. I don’t do one-night stands,”    “And what makes you think that is what I do?”    “Call it a gut feeling.” She sighed.    I wouldn’t call what I do one-night stands. However, I have a s****l appetite that is not to everyone’s taste. My s*x drive is higher than most because it is the only thing that makes me feel…well, anything. I had been numb for a long time, but that is a story for another day. I have certain women in my life that fulfil my needs. Women who only want the same as me, we have a specific arrangement. I don’t f**k strangers.    “Well, your gut feeling is wrong. I don’t f**k strangers,” I said.    “None of this matters, you know that, right? I am the type of woman that prefers relationships, and I don’t know what you do, but something tells me it isn’t that,”    “No, I don’t do relationships, and there are reasons why,”    “Then I don’t know what you expect from me, Kylan,”    She shook her head, ran her fingers through her hair and let out a huff of air. I can’t answer that question, not entirely because I don’t even know.    “I don’t know, but one thing I am sure about is I could give you the best night of your life,” I said confidently.    “You said it yourself, you don’t do one-night stands, remember, and neither do I,”    I stepped in closer to her and rested my hand on her hip.    “I could make an exception,” I whispered.   “We can’t. My dad would kill you,” she breathed out.    “But you want to,” I responded.    She didn’t say she didn’t want to, just that we can’t.    Nola started rambling on, the same way she did in the coffee shop. I stood there, listening and nodding my head. But she wouldn’t stop, and half of what she was now saying didn’t make any sense. There was only one thing for it. She may slap me, but at least I know where I stand.    I brought her tightly against me and covered her lips with mine. Nola moaned into the kiss. She fought against the kiss at first, but after only a moment, she snaked her arms around my neck, pressed her body to me and kissed back. When she did, I wasn’t expecting my body to respond in the way it was. I felt my length stirring to attention. I usually need more than one kiss to get me excited, but the longer her lips were on mine, the more excited I felt myself become. Her lips were terrific, and this kiss was incredible.    Nola took me by surprise when she slipped her tongue into my mouth and nudged mine. I gave her what she wanted without hesitation, and our tongues were soon dancing perfectly together. I pushed her against the wall, and we were quickly in a heated make-out session. She traced her fingers down my back, and I shuddered under her touch. Her hands were going further down, and she rested them on my ass. Mmm, maybe she isn’t as sweet and innocent as I believed.    Suddenly, she placed her hand on my chest and pushed me away.    “We should stop,” she panted out.  My breathing was erratic, my c**k now standing at full attention.    “Sorry, I pushed,” I breathed out.    “No, you didn’t. I just didn’t expect this to happen,” she replied, fixing her hair and dress.    “You and me both,”    “Um, we should get back,” she whispered, nervous again.    “I will be out in a minute,”    I needed to readjust myself. She nodded and walked out quickly. I don’t even know what that was. I don’t even know what is going to happen from here. I readjusted myself, took a moment to get myself together before heading out.    I noticed Nola getting herself a drink. Then I got an idea. I took a business card from my wallet and added my personal number to it. I went over to where she was. I took her hand in mine and placed the card in it.    “You change your mind, give me a call. I will make it worth your while. I promise,”    I didn’t give her a chance to react and walked away. If she wanted to call me, she would. If she doesn’t, then so be it.
