Tommy, who had witnessed everything, quietly closed his eyes. Even though he was a smart kid, he couldn't tell if Vivian was acting or not.
At this moment, someone knocked on their window and looked inside.
Vivian couldn't stay calm anymore. What is going on? Does he think we're having s*x in the car?
Vivian flushed. She quickly withdrew her foot because she noticed Tommy laughing.
"Please do not laugh. It still hurts!"
She tried to explain but also laughed. She was well aware of how embarrassed she appeared.
Seeing that the person outside hadn't left, Liam got out to talk to him.
"Please show your credential." The soldier with a cap on said with a serious face, "You can't do this in broad daylight, dude. Go home!"
Liam explained what had happened, but the other guy wouldn't believe him until he finally proved his identity.
The soldier immediately saluted him with a smile, "So you were helping her. This is a misunderstanding. You can leave now."
Liam returned to the driver's seat and started driving in the direction of the dining place.
His phone rang at this time. And he picked up the call.
Vivian and Tommy couldn't really hear the conversation. She didn't know if it was a man or a woman, but she could tell that Liam wasn't so happy to talk to the person. He appeared to be a different person.
A while after the call, Liam asked her where she lived so that he could send them back.
"Just drop us at the Rose Bar." Vivian answered.
Liam's arm paused on the steering wheel for a while and then returned to normal.
When they arrived, Vivian abruptly asked for his phone number.
"Actually, I'm not allowed," Liam made up an excuse.
"Come on. It's just a bunch of numbers. Who's gonna know?" Vivian tried to persuade him, "I can call you when I'm in danger. You're a soldier and responsible for the safety of the citizens, right?"
Liam had no choice but to let her have her way. He warned her not to call if there was nothing serious going on.
"Fine, I'll only call you when I have to. Deal?" Vivian was all jolly after her success.
Finally, the mother and son said bye to the man. Vivian stood there watching as the car drove away. She was feeling a little hollow on the inside. She suddenly remembered something and dialed his number. She kept the same phone number because she couldn't let go of the past.
Liam's phone started to ring right after he took off. It was an unknown caller ID. He thought it might be Vivian, so he picked up.
"Liam Hassan."
"Sorry, it's me, Vivian."
She sounded quite exciting. Of course, it was her again.
"Have you forgotten your promise already?"
"No, but my suitcase is still at your camp!"
Liam had also remembered. Because he was in a hurry to treat her injury, her suitcase was still in the trunk of the other car. He immediately turned around. They were waiting for him on the side of the road. She smiled brightly as she saw him approaching. Perhaps fate was bringing them together.
God was even on her side!
Liam found it quite incredible. He had always been a careful and decisive person. But ever since he met her, he had been neither!
"Hey, how have you been?" She looked at him affectionately. Yeah, only she knew just how long they had been apart. She had been dazed today until now. When she saw his handsome face now, she knew everything was real!
Liam came to her and said calmly, "Tell me the address. I'll drop your suitcase when I pass by."
No, you won't! Obviously, Vivian would not allow it. She insisted on accompanying him, and he could only agree.
Inside the car, Vivian couldn't stop smiling. With Tommy sitting on her lap, it looked like they were a family of three. No words could describe how happy she was.
Liam found her smile ridiculous. "Are you laughing at me?" He really couldn't understand why she was smiling like that.
"No way, no how! I just think God wants us to run into each other all the time. Don't make that face at me. Smile. We are not adversaries."
When Liam noticed Tommy was sleeping, he slowed down the car. He couldn't help but be concerned about the child.
Vivian went on, "I'll just say that I think you're adorable. There is no need for you to feel pressed. Just keep on driving, and I'll keep on talking to myself."
Liam laughed at her nonsense, clearly not taking it seriously. He focused on driving.
It was an hour later when they had finally gone and returned. Vivian was watching him the whole time. She wished she could be more reserved but it was impossible. He was far too attractive.
She was like a fangirl fawning over him, in Liam's opinion. All she did was look him in the eyes and smile. It made him feel a little uneasy.
She finally got out of the car. But that was not the end.
Tommy had fallen asleep. It was impossible for her to carry the luggage and the kid at the same time, so she needed help. And who else could it be?
"Mr. Captain, would you lend me a hand?"
She chose that name for him because she thought it was amusing, and it also reminded him all the time of his responsibility to help the citizens.
Liam had no choice but to go over and carry the kid, "I'll take the kid. You take care of the suitcase."
Vivian felt flattered suddenly. The kid was much heavier, of course. At the same time, she felt very moved. There was immense gratitude in her heart.
Liam chose to ignore her facial expression because it was constantly changing. He simply began walking and said, "Don't just stand there. Lead the way."
Vivian came back to her senses and started walking as well. And in her mind, she was thinking about all kinds of ways to make him stay.
Even God decided to help her again.
