Chapter 3 : A New Year's Eve Reunion

As the days of December slipped away , Jonah found himself reflecting more on the time he had with Jayden. The holidays were in full swing and while Jonah tried to embrace the holiday spirit , he couldn't shake the lingering disappointment of Jayden sudden absence

he had hoped to spend New Year's Eve with him , to celebrate not just the turn of the year but also the potential of what they could become

On New Year's Eve , Jonah reluctantly attended a party thrown by Emma his friend who had the holiday gathering, the atmosphere was vibrant , filled with laughter and cheer , but Jonah felt like an outsider looking in

Everyone around him was caught up in the joy of the season , and he couldn't help help but feel a void where Jayden should have been

Jonah you made it, Emma exclaimed , pulling him into a warm hug as he stepped through the door

Hey Emma , Jonah replied , forcing a smile , thanks for inviting me

Emma's expression softened , have you heard from him

Jonah shook his head , not since our last call , I just ....... I don't understand why he hasn't reached out more , it's like he dissapppeared

Before Emma could respond , the door swung open , and a gust of cold air rushed into the room , causing everyone to turn and look

As the party continued , Jonah and Jayden found moments to steal away from the crowd , rekindling their conversation and laughter, Jonah felt a spark of hope reignite within him. But as the clock ticked closer to midnight , Jonah felt a familiar unease creeping back in , the thought of what they would say when the count down ended loomed over him , would he be able to express his feelings , would Jayden reciprocate
