Chapter 27

1259 Words

Aria. My eyes darted around the grand hall, scooping up everything and nothing at the same time. The low din of the harp playing in the distance filtered into my ear. It was soothing to say the least, for the life of me, I couldn't bring myself to relax. I could feel my heart skip a beat at least ten times in a minute. I wasn't exactly medically inclined, but even I knew that wasn't healthy. If I kept up with this, I wouldn't be surprised if I passed out from having a high blood pressure, and right now, that didn't seem like too much of a bad idea. I took in the scene in front of me again one more time, willing myself to calm down. Maybe if I focused on the number of people that were here and other things, I wouldn't have to count the number of times my heart was beating in a minute.
