[Flashback — 18 Years Ago]
The forest was alive with whispers that night. Wind howled through the ancient trees, carrying the scent of rain and danger. Deep within the Silvermist Territory, a small stone temple stood, hidden from the eyes of mortals and wolves alike. Its walls pulsed faintly with celestial markings, glowing softly like stars trapped in stone.
Inside, Luna Selene cradled her newborn daughter in trembling arms. The baby’s tiny eyes were closed, but the faint golden shimmer beneath her lashes betrayed who she truly was.
“She’s beautiful,” whispered Elder Mira, younger then but still wise, kneeling beside the Luna. “And dangerous, if the wrong hands find her.”
Alpha Callen — Damian’s father — stood at the doorway, sword drawn, his usually calm eyes filled with urgency. “They’re coming,” he growled. “The Shadow Sect. They’ve found us.”
Selene clutched the child closer to her chest. “We can’t let them have her. She’s the last of the Celestial Line… If they get to her—”
“They won’t,” Callen cut in. “I’ll hold them off. Mira, you know what to do.”
Mira nodded grimly. She began to draw glowing runes on the floor with lunar chalk, whispering ancient incantations. A shimmering portal slowly opened, swirling like liquid moonlight.
---
Outside the Temple
Darkness descended like a plague. Six cloaked figures emerged from the treeline, their presence chilling the air. The leader, a tall man with coal-black eyes, raised his hand — and shadows stretched toward the temple like living serpents.
Callen’s wolf burst forth in a flash of silver and black fur. He met the intruders head-on, his roar splitting the night. Claws and magic collided. Every strike shook the forest.
But they kept coming.
---
Inside
Mira’s voice grew louder, the spell nearly complete. Selene kissed her baby’s forehead, tears slipping down her cheeks. “Ariana, my star… forgive us. One day, you’ll understand.”
The portal flickered, unstable. The child began to glow, her golden light responding to the magic. Mira gasped. “She’s amplifying the spell — I’ve never seen this before.”
Selene placed Ariana gently into the glowing circle. “Take her far from here. Somewhere safe. Somewhere no darkness can reach.”
A distant explosion shook the temple. Callen’s roar turned to a snarl of pain. Selene turned toward the door, torn between her mate and her child.
“Go!” Callen’s voice echoed through the bond. “Save her!”
With a final whisper — “May the Moon bless you, my love” — Selene activated the spell.
Light exploded.
---
Moments Later
The Shadow Sect broke through the doors just as the portal closed. The leader scanned the room, fury twisting his features when he saw the empty circle.
“She’s gone,” Mira whispered, collapsing from exhaustion.
The leader’s voice was venom. “She can run to the ends of the earth. We will find her. She belongs to the prophecy.”
Outside, the rain finally broke, washing over the blood-soaked ground. In the distance, the portal closed in a quiet village far away — where a kind old midwife found a glowing infant at her doorstep.

[Present Day — Aria’s POV]
Aria woke with a gasp, clutching her chest. The memory felt so real, as if she had lived it herself. The names, the faces, the temple — they weren’t just visions. They were her past.
Damian sat beside her, concern in his silver eyes. “Another vision?”
She nodded slowly. “No… a memory.”
And this time, she remembered everything:
Her parents’ sacrifice.
The attack.
The promise.
Tears welled in her eyes. “I wasn’t abandoned… I was hidden.”
Damian pulled her into his arms, his voice a low growl. “And now that I know who they were, I’ll protect what they died for. You’re not alone anymore, Aria.”
The golden light in her veins pulsed in answer — steady, strong, ready.
