-Jacey- I woke in the early hours, when it was still dark. At first, I didn’t know what had woken me, but then Caleb thrashed his head back and forth and groaned. “Caleb,” I whispered, cupping his cheek. “Caleb, it’s a bad dream…” Caleb swatted at my hand, his eyelids flying open. At first, he stared into the near-darkness lit only by a digital clock, unseeing. Then he saw me and sighed heavily, wrapping me in his arms. “I’m sorry,” he murmured. “Did I hurt you?” “No.” I touched him carefully, slowly bringing him into reality. “Caleb, I love you. I hate that you keep having these nightmares.” I spread my hand over his heart. “Me, too.” Caleb nuzzled the top of my head. “Oh God, me, too.” “We need to go to therapists,” I said softly. “We keep putting it off…” Caleb laughed bitterly.
