EPISODE 9: APPOINTMENT

 Eunice’s POV

  It was early in the morning of Monday, all employees can be seen talking inside the Verwunderlich Corporation.

  “Have you seen the lady who visited last two days? She was directly entertained by the CEO’s secretary.”

  “Yeah it’s a little bit odd knowing how the CEO strictly disallows any employee to get in and out in his office. Even the secretary and the vice president has an access, they should have valid reason to enter.”

  “Also all transaction is done in conference room.”

  “She’s the only exception!”

  “CEO ordered the secretary that we must prioritize her.”

  One employee stopped talking and elbowed her nearest colleague. At the entrance of the building is where her attention is.

  The receptionist ran towards me and escorted me to the top floor again to the secretary’s desk. The secretary is already waiting for us and opened the CEO’s office door. The moment she stood in the open door, she was rendered paralyze. Neither can talk nor move. She was looking at the long nails holding the documents but cannot drag her eyes to look above his piercing eyes.

  “C-CEO, d-das…das Fräulein is here.” She almost ran outside the building after saying these words.

  “Guten morgen!” He greeted with a dazzling smile.

  My brows instantly perked up in disbelief! Am I hallucinating? There is a guy standing in front of me, wearing pink coat and white jeans, nail cuticles are fashionably done, red shiny lips and his long lashes was painted with masskara that complimented the green pigment of his eyes. Exquisite beauty! Wait… is he a guy or a gay?

  “What the f**k?!” I blinked multiply times to clear my line of sight. This can’t be true!

  “Didn’t you miss me, sweet heart?” His eyes shone like a sun during the day. His smile is the same as usual… the warm summer breeze soothing one’s feelings.

  “What… what are you doing here? I think I entered a wrong building!” I called Sensei but he is not answering. “This old thug?! Why is he not answering his phone?! Does he know about him? Did he plan everything? ”

  “No, we are supposed to meet last two days but an emergency occurred in my branch company so I had to rush.” He flipped his hair and walk to me in a s**t knows how kind of walk.

  My jaw dropped and my eyes widen seeing him swaying his hips. Did the heaven and hell switched?! Did the ocean and land interchanged?!

  “I missed you, sweet heart!” He hugged me tightly and kissed my chicks. It took a long while before I moved and hugged him back.

  “Where did your masculinity go?” I asked when I recovered myself and smiled awkwardly.

  “Masculinity my ass! Isn’t it obvious I’m more feminine than you are right now?” He rolled his eyes and sit in lounge in a reserved way.

  “I really can’t believe what my eyes are seeing now! When did this happen?”

  “Five years passes by fast. I started to realize years ago that this is what makes me happy.” He simply explained giving no reasons at all.

  ‘Should I be happy or disappointed? Argh! Why am I feeling this?! ’ I thought to myself. “I don’t know how to react in this situation but I’m happy to see you right now.”  I caught his eyes with mine and smiled understandingly. “Why didn’t you tell me? Are we really friends?” I held his hands and pouted.

  “Hey, hey, hey! You really didn’t treat me this good back then, eh?” We converse a little lot before lunch time.

  “Let’s go to lunch and discuss our collaboration.” He said.

  “It’s my treat today.”

  “It will be my pleasure to take advantage of your wealth now. Hahaha!” We laughed as we walked to the elevator. I saw almost all of the employees are peeking at us. When we entered the elevator, he clung to my arms like an oversize squirrel on a tree.

  “Have you seen the looks in your employees’ faces? It’s so strange.” I furrowed.

  “Never mind them, they have not seen me with a woman this close before.”

  “Even I, too.” I said to him teasingly.

  We never ran out of topic until we reached a high class restaurant.

  “Follow me, please.” One of the personnel gave us a private dining room with a floor to ceiling windows.

  “Magnificent!” I was looking at the cruises in the beautiful river.

  “It is one of the famous tourist spot of Berlin. Do you want to go there later?” He asked behind me.

  “If it is free, why not?”

  “You are still as stingy as you are years ago!” He pinched my face.

  “I just know how to value those things I acquired with sweat! Hahaha!”

  “It’s good that you know.‘’ He grinned.

  Five waiters served our lunch and left.

  “Wow, you really knew my favourite food!” I munched the tasty Currywurst with eyes closed. “I miss this taste… I remember you always cook this when we were still studying in University!” I said with my mouth full.

  “Eat slowly.” He gave my dish more of some veggie dishes.

  “I don’t care about my image anymore. I am comfortable eating with you.” I smiled at him with a bright face. He looked at me for a while before starting to eat.

  “Regarding our collaboration, the government of Germany would like me to create an armored car for the president. I will make you the supplier of my project.”

  “Really?!”I gaped when I heart his words. “Let me introduce you then to my newest products! It’s not out of the market yet. Aside from the micro products I can provide you, I also have bullet proof umbrella in which I can also improve it to be a weapon connected to the glasses. The bodyguards of the president will not toil because that umbrella can resist the bullet of Desert Tech SRS rifle. If you want anything better, I can design it.” I advertised to him a lot of my so called toys.

  “That’s the reason why I chose you to be my supplier! You’re the most competitive engineer I’ve ever known!” He gave me thumbs up.

  Time was killed between us and got no bore. We finished our food and made our way to the spree river.

  “How did you become the CEO of a century old company?” I asked him.

  “This is an inheritance from my ancestors. I took over the company after we graduated at the Technological University in the Philippines.”

  “Oh, it must be hard for you to keep this secret since you were young.” I saw an outlandish look past his eyes.

  “I was sick when I was 6 years old and at the same time, many people are eyeing for my inheritance. That’s why my parents sent me to Philippines to recuperate and protect my well being. I was not allowed to have friends and be close to anyone. After I regained my health in grade tenth, they want me to go back to Germany but I can’t. I don't want to do so.” A dejected smile slowly crept to his lips.
