CHAPTER THIRTEEN

THE PARTY PLAN SOPHIA'S POV “I want to host a party,” I said immediately walking into Lucien's office the next day. I knew he was in the office because I had been awake from the loud screaming from Fayne. It seemed like she wanted the whole world to know that she was in Lucien's arms. I got out of my bed, and was about to go bang on their door when the screaming suddenly stopped. I didn't want to take any chances so I still went to confirm for myself, that was when I saw Lucien walking into his office. I was in no mood to be courteous or happy with Lucien. They should have taken their business somewhere else, but it is not my house so I have no say whatsoever. Lucien slowly, gradually lifts his head from the book he had open before him. He stared at me for so long that it became embarrassing, but my anger wasn't going anywhere. “What did you say?” He finally asks in a chilling calm voice. “I said that I want to host a party, not in your house but somewhere around,” I replied back in a dry tone. Lucien closes his eyes and lifts his head up to the ceiling. He brought his head back down and smiled. That smile gave me the creeps, it wasn't a good smile. It was a smile that promised a lot of things. I noticed then that my will to let him know about my plans was beginning to fail me. I have wanted this for so long, why do I care what he says? He doesn't have any right to prevent me from going out or doing with my money as I pleased. “Alright, Miss Sophia, you can do as you wish. The only condition is that I will be present at said party.” I turned so fast to look at him, I felt the muscles in my neck give way with a loud crank sound. My eyeballs were so round and huge, I am sure I looked quite ridiculous right now. “Why?” I asked, my voice sounding more high pitched than it normally is. “What do you mean by why?” Lucien was really having the time of his life because the smile on his face widened. “Bu… but you can't be there. You are an old man, the party is for my friends. New friends actually,” I said, stuttering for a bit. He is just pulling my legs, he won't seriously leave all he has to do to go attend a party filled with college students. “You think I'm old?” He asks suddenly, drawing my attention back to him. I frowned, a bit confused by his question. “What?” “I asked if you think I am old,” he replied back in a very very calm and quiet voice. The look on his face had changed, his grey eyes seemed darker than usual giving him a more alluring look. I swallowed, not understanding where this conversation may probably lead to. “Well, you are old,” I answered, a bit unsure. My throat felt dry instantly. The anger that was coursing through my body like hot flashes disappeared. “I asked you, Sophia, if you think that I am old?” His gaze made my skin itch, I wanted to pull out of my skin right then. “Uh… no,” “Hmm.” He continued looking at me with such a satisfied look that I couldn't bear it anymore. I scowled at him and walked out. I hurriedly prepared for school, packed the invites George made me in my Birkin bag and left. Valentino saw the look on my face and laughed out. “What, dickhead?” I asked in a very forceful manner. “Nothing, Princess,” he replied with a snicker. “You better cut that crap with me today Valentino, I am not in the mood!” I answered back with such a loud voice that I myself was even shocked to hear, but I didn't care. This wiped the smirk on Valentino's face quickly. “Do you want me to call the boss?” He meant my dad. “No, Valentino, I'm okay.” I didn't speak again until we got to the university gate. “Find me a good location close to Lucien's house, a place suitable for a college party,” I said while stepping out of the vehicle. “Alright,” he replied, still staring at me strangely. “Miss Sophia?” he called out just as I was about to walk into the school premises. “Yes?” “You know you don't have to tolerate anything if you don't want to. Just say the word anytime and I'll call the boss for you,” he said, a sincere look filling his eyes. For a mafia lord errand boy, he sure did have a lot of compassion, unlike what I thought. “Of course, Valentino. Thank you,” I smiled at him this time before leaving. I got into school and walked straight to my department building. I saw Clary talking excitedly to Nerissa who seemed a bit un-interested. “Hi, Clary!” I called out loudly, not intending to run after them. She turns her head and a look of surprise crosses her face. Nerissa who seemed un-interested a while ago now paid close attention to me as I approached them. “I am throwing a party this weekend,” I said with a huge smile on my face. I couldn't help feeling quite excited, I mean I get to actually start doing something to address my problem. “Oh, wow!” Clary replied, not sure how she should take the news. She glances back at Nerissa, whose face gave nothing away, but the fire simmering in her eyes looked like anger. “You did this all by yourself?” Clary asked again, carefully inspecting the invitation. “Yes! Yes I did,” I was smiling and laughing this time as I replied to her. “Nice, of course. We will be there,” she says, replying for both herself and Nerissa who had crossed her arms over her breasts and was staring at the invitation card Clary was holding like she wanted it to burn. I didn't bother, they would be there for my party, that was all that mattered to me. I had my first invite accepted. I walked over to the boys locker room where those in the football club stayed to change before any of their game or even training. “Hi, my name is Sophia Loretto, I am hosting a party this weekend,” I said to one of the guys I saw sipping water from a bottle, shirtless as well. “Cool!” He exclaimed, grabbing the party invite card from my hands and walking off to hand it out to other guys. I smiled and walked to my department before the first lecture started. Mission accomplished.
