FIRST DAY AT A UNIVERSITY
SOPHIA'S POV
Walking into the university grounds felt so overwhelming. Many people were going about.
Some had their phones out and were walking while operating them. Some boys who looked cool had headphones over their heads, lost in whatever they were listening to.
I could feel the warmth bubbling beneath my breasts. This is it. This is my fresh start.
A huge smile began to form on my face.
The university was indeed a magnificent building. The country’s flag was mounted close to the gatehouse and also close to another building. I'm guessing the building is where the office of the Vice Chancellor and the deans are.
I walked on excitedly towards what looked like the entrance. I didn't know where I was supposed to go. The email I received stated that orientation would be the first activity; after which, we would proceed with registration and touring the university grounds.
I kept walking towards the same destination that a greater number of the students were headed, maybe following them would lead me right to where I needed to be.
I kept walking and reading the tags before each door, but I couldn't find the one where the orientation was to take place.
It was supposed to be the main hall, but I kept seeing different department halls and some labs as well.
I was well and truly lost, and I couldn't bring myself to actually ask anybody the way to the hall.
I took out my phone to see if I could find a way to navigate my way to the hall, or if there were any instructions on how to get to the hall in the email I was sent.
I kept walking while browsing through my phone until I almost hit a group of flashy girls who were buzzing with so much excitement over some activity they had done during the holidays.
“Oh! I am so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going," I stuttered while thanking the universe that I didn't actually hit any of them.
“Well, you should watch where you are going next time, Barbie,” one of the girls who was a brunette said to me while smacking the gum she was chewing quite aggressively.
“I’m sorry,” I said again, squatting to retrieve my ball pen, which had fallen out of my bag while I was trying to avoid clashing with them.
“Leave her alone, she was obviously trying to find her way just like the rest of us,” one of the girls in a very flashy skirt said, though the skirt only drew attention because it was so shiny; the girl's boobs, on the other hand, were trying to spill out from the very tiny singlet she put them in.
She came forward and extended her hand towards me,
“Hi, my name is Clary.”
“Oh! I am Sophia, nice to meet you, Clary,” I awkwardly took her hand in mine in a very awkward attempt to give her a handshake.
“Is that a real Zara handbag?” she asks suddenly while going for my bag.
Instinctively, I wanted to prevent her from touching my bag because I don't like people touching my things, but she was being friendly, and this was my opportunity to make friends.
“Uh, yeah, it is, my dad got it for me,” I said quietly, allowing her to touch and look over my bag to her satisfaction.
“Ooooh, she’s a daddy’s girl. Bet your daddy gets you whatever you want, Barbie,” the brunette said again.
“Stop it, Fiona. She was just being honest.”
I began to like Clary immediately, and I guess the brunette's name is Fiona.
Throughout this exchange, one of the girls stood back watching the entire exchange with a somewhat bored look.
Clary noticed me looking at her and sprang up immediately.
“Come, let me introduce you to our friend, Nerissa. She is the minister’s daughter,” she added with a really bright smile.
Wow, I guess she’s quite happy she is friends with a minister's daughter.
“That's really nice, nice to meet you, Nerissa. Which sector is your father the minister of?”
“The minister of justice, if you must know, you'd better be careful around here; you wouldn't want to get on her bad side,” Fiona added quite angrily.
“That’s enough, Fiona,” Nerissa said in a very soothing manner.
She is really a beauty. I would give her that. She was blonde, but not as blonde as I am.
“You are a new student, right?” Clary asked suddenly, as if trying to diffuse the tense energy Fiona brought in.
“Yes, I am. I have been trying to find the main hall for ages now,” I said, grateful that she took the initiative to ask me. I would never have been brave enough to ask myself.
“Alright, you can come with us, we are new students as well, and we are heading to the hall right now.”
“You know where it is?”
“Of course, Barbie, she wouldn't be asking you to join us if she didn't," Fiona added with a scoff. She walked past me, sashaying her way towards where I assumed the hall was located.
Nerissa said nothing more and walked past as well.
“Come on, don't pay them any mind. They are usually that way to people they've never met before,” Clary said while linking her hand in mine and taking me along with them.
She kept talking about everything and nothing. I didn't mind her chatter.
I can't believe my luck. I made some friends on my very first day here. This is truly a sign that this is indeed a real fresh start for me.
We arrived at the orientation hall just in time before the Dean of Student Affairs began his speech.
I tried to listen, but I couldn't. The dream I had last night kept popping up in my head, drowning all other thoughts and making me distracted.
I could feel phantom lips enclosing my n*****s, and those hands caressing my face down to my neckline. I was already getting aroused just thinking about the dream. I kept clenching my legs as the images and feelings of the dream flashed before my eyes.
Imagining what his mouth would have felt like on my p***y was driving me crazy.
I tried my best to keep my cool; I didn't want to make any strange noise while in the presence of so many people.
Suddenly, students began to clap, and I came back to my surroundings. I didn’t know why they were clapping, but I joined in so I wouldn't look suspicious.
“The heads of different departments are here currently. We want to make this easy for everyone. Just find your own department and complete your registration with whoever you see sitting there. Some older students will be waiting by the side to give you all a tour of this great university.”
The students gave another round of applause. There were a lot of enthusiastic students here, by the sound of their applause.
“I wish you all a wonderful experience in our hallowed grounds.”
The dean walked out of the hall immediately after his speech.
Students began to move in different directions inside the hall, trying to find their own department. I found mine and immediately walked towards the stand.
While waiting for my turn, I checked my watch to see that it was some minutes past 2 pm. I may have to miss the tour.
After my registration, I was given a student guide, a campus map, the department handbook, and my student identity card.
After collecting these items, I walked out of the hall and immediately found my way outside the school gates.
I checked my wrist watch again to see that it was almost 3 pm, just 2 minutes more.
Dad doesn't like me being picked up inside the school compound to avoid unwanted attention from other students. I don't have any problem with it myself, and I do not wish for any unwanted attention as well.
I looked up just in time to see Valentino drive up towards me; he had an annoying smirk on his face.
“You’d better wipe that smirk off your face,” I grumbled as I entered the car.
“Will do, Princess, will do.”
We drove off in companionable silence.
“I think I've made some friends,”
“Well, isn't that great?”
I laughed at his fake celebration. Today wasn't such a bad day after all. I may even come to look forward to actually going to school.
