Anshuman's POV:
I got up at 4 by the sound of my baby crying. We named her Anaya. "Anaya Anshuman Soni"
. She is so cute, i feel so content when I see her. Vandana was sleeping beautifully in my arms. I don't want her to get disturbed in her sleep so I slowly removed my arm from under her head, and put her head back on the pillow gently. Tiptoed towards my princess, picked her up and went to the balcony closing the door behind me.
I rocked her trying to stop her from crying, but she was not stopping at all. I noticed she was wet on the bottom. I pouted at her and said, "Oh my babyy! , so this is the reason behind your crying ,hmm, princess. You sure know how to make me work for you, that too this early in the morning..Okay, wait a minute here, I will bring your diapers and change it okay." I put her on her crib in the balcony itself knowing if I bring her in Vandana will get up.
After changing her, I didn't feel like sleeping, and she wasn't sleeping as well. So, I sat in the couch in the balcony itself with my princess in my lap.
I glanced at her, she is so tiny, so cute. I can't believe I am her dad now. I am feeling blessed to have her. "
You are a blessing for me, my dear. I want you to grow up fast and play with you. You will be daddy's princess. I will give you everything you ever wish. I love you so much my baby."
She giggled as if understanding my words, playing with my wedding ring.I smiled at her. I was observing this small beauty very carefully, everything about her was so lovely, her cute little puffy eyes, small nose, a very small lips, her ears, her soft hair and hugged her to my chest, inhaling her baby scent.
"She sure is her daddy's princess. I can see it, see she even made you change her diapers. I never thought I will get to see you, Anshuman Soni changing a baby's diapers." I heard someone's laughing. I knew who she is. The love of my life, and the mother of the princess in my arms, my wife.
I got a little shy hearing her words. " Even I never knew I would do this. But my girl proved me, that I would do anything for her." I said while she came to me.
She smiled knowingly , kissed my cheek and greeted, "Good morning hubby. Well why didn't you woke me up when she cried?."
I kissed her forehead pulling her hand towards me making her sit in front of me, "Good morning wifey. And I wanted some alone time with my Anaya so I left you in your dreams.”
She smiled looking at a giggling Anaya in my arms, “Can’t wait to see her growing up, she will be a wonderful person, she has a very bright future ahead.”

Aanya’s POV:
“Mom, dad, where are you?, Please come here fast. I want to show something to you. Fast, fast.” An 11 year old Anaya shouted entering the house from her school, throwing her bag at the sofa and thumping down beside it.
“Anaya beta, you are back?” She exclaimed coming to the hall, hearing her shouting.
“ What happened why are you shouting?” She asked. “ What did you wanted to show, well whatever it is, go wash-up and come here for lunch. Your dad must be on his way back from office.
And where is your brother? Where did you left him?.” She finished her questions looking towards the door for his son.
“Offo, maa, did you forget he told you na he has his extra classes today at school, so he will come late.” Anaya huffed. “And do you know just now you ruined my excitement. I was so excited to show you something.” She continuing with a fake angry face.
“ well, I thought you would like to surprise your dad.” Vandana replied shrugging her shoulders and with a playful tone. “You know if you would’ve told me then I couldn’t hide it from your dad for even a minute, your dad would’ve caught on my expressions. Here I helped you and instead of saying thanks, you’re being angry on me, I’m hurt.”
She acted hurt by placing a hand above her heart.
Anaya giggled, seeing her mom’s playfulness, “Okay mom, I’m sorry. You’re always right. Thank you, I love uh,”. And kissed her cheek, hugging her from behind.
“ I love uh too beta, now go, freshen up and come.”’
She ran upstairs to her room, changed her dress, washed her face. A huge smile appeared on her face hearing her’s dad’s car honk.
She ran downstairs to meet her dad in the living room, screaming excitedly, “Dadd”
Ran towards him and side hugged him. He kissed her head, “Hello darling, How was your day today?”
“Fantastic dad, I was just waiting for you, I have a great news for you.”
“Really, what is it?” He replied sounding excited.
“She went towards her bag, picked up her trophy and went towards him, “Dad, look I won the dance competition. This is my prized trophy, yeahhhh.”
“That’s wonderful, my doll. I am so proud of you. I knew you were going to win it. You practiced really hard for it, I am really glad you could make it, keep it up baby.” He exclaimed while showing thumbs up as a sign of appreciation.
“Wow,,, really!! It’s fabulous darling, This sure calls for a celebration. I will make your favorite dish as your reward alright!!.” Vandana said from behind, looking at the trophy.
“Yipeee.. Thanks a lot mom. I’ll keep it up I’ll make you guys feel proud on me.” She replied to both.

Third person’s POV:
The next day was a holiday. Both the Aanya and her brother Yash were playing cricket with the children nearby in the garden.
The ball flew in the balcony in their house. Aanya ran inside to fetch it, she was running to get the ball from upstairs, stopped when she heard someone talking about her.
She wanted to hear what the servants were talking about her. She decided to eavesdrop.
First person: Hey did you know Aanya baby is not sir and madam’s real child.
Second person: Yes, I know they adopted her when she was 5 months old.
She gasped and stumbled hearing this, she didn’t knew she was adopted, they always treated her like her real daughter. She couldn’t bear this news, she ran up to her room locked her bed and cried. It was unbelievable. She can’t believe what she just heard.
She cried for a few hours before her brother came up to check on her.
She loved and adored Yash very much, for her he is her best friend, best brother, her partner in crime, companion and all. He was 1 year younger than her still sometimes acted like her big brother scolding her on her little mistakes, brought snacks for her during her studytime, played every games, watch movies. They had same taste in movies and foods. The fight together, play together, sometimes annoy each other. Shared each other’s problems which they can’t share with parents. All in all they were the best brother sister duo.
He knocked her door, “Di, open the door. Di what happened? You didn’t came back?. Are you alright?.”
“No bhai it’s okay, I am alright, just quite tired, you go and play. I will rest.” She replied trying to stop her tears and sobbing.
“No di, you don’t sound alright. Were you-were you crying.” He asked trying to analyze her voice.
“Bhai, I’m good. I am not crying, why will I cry ?.” She said wishing for him to just leave.
“Open the damn door di.” He kept banging on her door. He knew something is wrong with her. He wanted to see her, to know her condition.
She didn’t replied anything this time.
“Are you opening the door or should I call mom and dad?, They will come running from their important meeting just for you. Do you want that?” He threatened her this time.
She didn’t want them to worry about her yet, she wanted to ask about this herself. She will talk when they come, not wanting to disturb them. She listened to him and opened the door for him after washing off her dried tears, “Come on in, don’t disturb them.”
He saw her red puffy eyes, he couldn’t control himself and hugged her. He was too worried for her. She couldn’t hug him back, still lost in her thoughts.
He made her sit on the edge of the bed and sat on his knees in front of her.
“What happened to my monkey, why was she wasting her pearls ?. You know pearl’s prize are raised up nowadays, it’s not good to waste them like this?.” He said trying to cheer her up.
She chuckled at his nonsense talk and looked at him. His eyes were filled with care, worries, confusion for her. She couldn’t believe he is not her real brother. She doesn’t want to think about it. But can’t help the thoughts from coming to her mind.
She hugged him tightly, not caring about his confusion and questions which he must have on his mind.
He patted her back trying to soothe her. When she became normal, he asked what happened?, she told him, not wanting to hide any secrets from him.
He got shocked hearing this, he went out. She thought he must have been angry from her now, she didn’t wanted to lose him, but she never thought of his reaction. She started to cry more, after a while Yash came and gave her a glass of water and made her drink it.
“Di, I know you must be stressed about it. But for me it doesn’t matter whether you’re my real sister or adoptive. We may not share our blood, but we are connected with our hearts. Have you ever for once seen it in our parent’s eyes that they don’t love you or doesn’t want you anymore ?.. Sometimes we should just keep quiet and savour the moments di. You don’t need to ask anything to them, they love you, we all love you, and will always do.” He consoled her.
She smiled thinking how her little brother is advising her like a mature person who knows the solution of every problem in their life.
She replied, “Maybe you’re correct bhai, sometimes you really act like a mature person. I never knew my little brother have grown up this big.”
He gave her a big smile, and they both went for a movie to change their mood. They decided to keep it to themselves. Not wanting to change the happy and lively tone with awkwardness. But deep down she knew she had to pay back for this huge benevolence to the family and her determination of doing something on her own and to make them proud and her grew more. She wanted to give them all the happiness she could.
