Isaac sat down awkwardly, he grimaced and looked down regretfully. “I'm sorry, I was-”
“How can you be half an hour late on a blind date? Are you out of your mind?” The woman in white glared angrily, she didn't even give Isaac a chance to explain anything.
Isaac grimaced even more. “I'm sorry miss, it's my fault for recognizing the wrong person.”
“Has being a psychiatric nurse blinded your eyes?” the woman asked. He glared with annoyance. “With that meager salary, why do you still dare to come late? Misrecognize people? It seems that you really are blind.”
Isaac was silent, he had been scolded many times on blind dates, but he never knew how to reply to them. In the end, the man just nodded without intending to deny anything. “Yes, yes, well this is my fault, please forgive me. To make up for my mistake, I'll treat you today.”
“Do you think I can't afford to pay for a meal at this shabby café?”
Isaac was once again rendered speechless by the figure before him. He didn't know what else to do. “That's not what I meant, I just wanted to-”
Before Isaac could finish his sentence, he suddenly felt a warm liquid invade his face. The man reflexively closed his eyes.
“You're just a nurse with no self-respect!” The woman exclaimed loudly after dousing Isaac with her coffee. “So obnoxious! You, a pathetic, lowly nurse, have no qualifications to meet me, Selene Salvador! Your salary is not even half of the allowance my father gives you!”
Isaac sighed, he tried to reach for the tissue carelessly. His eyes stung as the liquid got into his eyes a little.
Before he could open his eyes, Isaac felt a slap on his cheek along with the sound of loud steps moving away. He faintly heard the woman grumble. “A man with no self-respect like that is really annoying. How dare he come to see me.”
Isaac moved to wipe his face. His eyes were hot, as were his cheeks. The man took out his cell phone, looking at his current appearance through the camera. His cheeks were flushed and slightly swollen and the corners of his eyes were watery, also reddish in color.
Looking back, the woman named Selene Salvador was no longer visible. So Isaac no longer bothered to be in this place. He even ignored the people looking at him with gossipy eyes.
The man just calmly stepped out. Intending to return to the hospital to settle some business.
“Come to the hotel with me!”
“In your dreams!”
Isaac frowned, he immediately recognized this familiar soft voice, Anastasia Oliver. Realizing something was wrong, the man tried to find the source of the voice.
“You're just a little girl, how dare you reject me?”
“On what basis should I not reject an ugly man like you?” Anastasia's voice sounded so fierce and angry.
Isaac was still walking quickly, he eventually arrived at an alley, walking down the place without hesitation.
“Women like you need to be taught a lesson. Asshole-”
“Stop it.” Isaac quickly moved, he stopped the movement of a large man who was trying to hit Anastasia. “Are you really a man? Why are you hitting a woman?”
“None of your business!” The big man withdrew his hand roughly. He moved to hit Isaac. “Stay out of it, asshole!”
Isaac dodged easily. He struck the big man's knee joint with his right foot, knocking him down, and then struck him hard on the back of the neck with his elbow. “I warned you not to interfere with women.”
“Don't interfere!” The big man was about to get back to his feet, but Isaac had already taken action. He punched the figure in the face and kicked him in the stomach.
“I warned you nicely earlier,” Isaac sneered. He then turned towards Anastasia. “Let's go. It's not good to keep hanging around here.”
Nodding obediently, she followed Isaac's lead away from the alley. “Thank you.”
Isaac chuckled. “No need, I also have to teach the thugs there a lesson sometimes. They act out of line as time goes by.”
“I'm really grateful for your help,” Anastasia said. “I have an acquaintance at Medica Pharmacy. I can help you get a job there as a thank you.”
Hearing that, Isaac fell silent. Medica Pharmacy was the largest pharmaceutical company in the country. But in the end the man shook his head. “I'm helping you for nothing in return. There's no need to give me anything.”
“I can give you a high position. Do you really not want it?” asked Anastasia with doubt on her face.
Isaac once again shook his head, this time much more firmly than before. “I just don't want to leave my current job. I love psychology so much. I really enjoy my days as a psychiatric nurse. Just saying thank you is enough for me, Ms. Oliver.”
“What if I transfer some money? I won't feel relieved if I haven't given you something to thank you for.” Anastasia still insisted.
Isaac, for the umpteenth time, shook his head. “Miss Oliver, you really don't have to do anything. I just did what I had to do. Even if today's victim is not you, I will still come.”
“Are you really not going to accept anything?”
“No need,” Isaac replied. He smiled. “I have to leave right now to finish some work. Be careful on your way back. You don't want to run into any more bad guys.”
“I understand.” Anastasia nodded, she stared at Isaac's figure that slowly grew smaller in her sight and disappeared at the turn of the alley.
She then took out a cell phone from her pocket and immediately contacted someone. “Can you investigate someone for me? His name is Isaac Luther, a psychiatric nurse.”
“Understood Miss.”
Anastasia unconsciously grinned. “He is the right person,” she muttered. Compared to the greedy men who wanted the Oliver family fortune, Isaac was definitely much better.

Isaac slowly walked home, but when he got to the front of his house, the man nailed it noticing an unfamiliar car parked on the lawn. He hurriedly walked inside after opening the door and soon realized that a familiar stranger was sitting in his living room, Selene Salvador.
