She was still engrossed in the enchanted view when a female voice pierced into her subconscious mind, bringing her back to the present reality. "Yeah, I will get back to you on that by tomorrow," continued the voice, and Elena tilted her face slightly with curiosity.
She immediately observed a lady walking through the corridor with steps that carried great grandeur.
The lady looked very fashionable and was wearing a white turtle-neck with a plaid skirt, as well as a pair of ankle boots that gave her an equational mix of a chic and noble look. She had long dark blue hair that flowed down her back and bounced with every step she took.
Elena, who had been staring keenly, was surprisingly caught off guard when the tall lady turned and met her eyes with deep brown ones. Their eyes were only locked for a couple of seconds before the lady turned her face away, returning to her call.
"Sorry, what were you saying again?" She resumed her conversation as she sounded professional once again. The lady disappeared with increased steps, swaying her hips repeatedly as she moved.
Elena gave a deep sigh and removed her focus from the door. She could guess who that was, the only daughter of Andrew Anderson, Blaire Anderson. Because she couldn't imagine any other visitors just like her speaking over the phone in such a high tone and walking around the house with such commanding and almost intimidating steps.
She knew the woman had to be a member of the Anderson but was too young to be placed as the madame. Blaire was the last child, a famous designer who decided to join the fashion industry rather than be part of her family company. Elena found it amusing that she never knew any of this information until the other night when she was searching the internet for the famous family.
Her thoughts were disrupted by the incoming footsteps of flat sandals. She turned around just to face the madame herself gracing the room with her presence. With just one look, Elena could place her as Mrs. Anderson, probably because she looked a bit elderly and also looked like a million dollars.
Elena threw herself off the chair and slightly bowed her head as the older woman approached her.
"Dr. Davis ?" The madame inquired, her voice sweet like nectar.
Elena lifted her head and was glad to see the woman's face beaming with a smile. "Yes, ma'am. It is an honor to meet you, Mrs. Alice Anderson."
Alice stretched a hand and the bronde lady humbly received it with both her hands. "Pleasure is all mine, please have a seat."
Once they had settled and Elena politely declined the woman's offer of some tea, she began the topic regarding her purpose of coming as a manner of formal talk.
"Absolutely," Alice responded to one of her statements. "You must already be aware of all of this but I feel I should recount them now that I am seeing you face to face." She conveyed it to the attentive doctor. "My son, Shawn, got involved in an accident five months ago which had now developed into a case of migraine and an unstable state of mind."
Elena nodded, getting her notes ready in case she had any new information to add to the old notes.
"Doctor, you see, he is recovering little by little, but he is really different from the Shawn I remember. Not that he has always been the sweet and receptive type, but now he has become extremely rude and closed off.
"I see," the doctor spoke softly, nodding her head continuously to every word.
"He has become much more quiet than he used to be, and I must say he hardly talks to anyone, not even me, his mother." Alice continued and Elena could see that the woman was filled with deep emotions to the extent it started affecting her breath as she talked. We were compelled to arrange private care for him because we could no longer handle his nonchalant attitude towards his health. He is our only heir, and we cannot just sit idly with folded hands and watch him crumble.
Elena folded her lips and nodded one more time in total understanding of all the woman had said. She noticed a tear sneaking out of the woman's eye before she wiped it away with a handkerchief. She waited for the mother to emotionally stabilize before moving on to her next question.
Are there any other disabilities or physical injuries he suffered from the accident??
There were mentions of some in the test results, but she wanted to be totally sure of even the slightest thing that may have been overlooked by the family and not mentioned in the hospital.
"All the injuries he had have been healing with time during these past months," the woman ascertained, shaking her head softly.
Elena nodded and placed her note on her lap. "I promise to do my very best, Mrs. Anderson." Her voice sounded professional.
"Before you go," Alice quickly added before their conversation came to an end. "He has always been like this, but his illness just made it worse. I must tell you though, there are some problems you are likely going to face with my son and for that I apologize in advance. He can be very rude and come off stern, especially when it comes to meeting and talking to new people, because he hates humans." The last statement the woman made sounded funny to Elena, but the matter on ground was far too delicate that she had to reject the urge to giggle.
" Well understood," Elena spoke, smiling softly. She had dealt with different species of patients; she could not see how her son could be any worse.
Alice replied her with a smile and her eyes gleamed with some remnants of tears. "I can see you are determined. How about I introduce you to him?"
"Is he aware of my arrival today?"
"In a way, yes he is. We have mentioned your arrival a couple of times," Alice said. "He should be done with the business meeting he had online today by now." She added, speaking to herself, taking a look at her watch as she made the statement.
