Chapter 6

“What are you doing here?” I asked a rude question

He chuckled. “I’m hurt Queen Ameerah. I was about to talk to Valdus when I saw his beautiful Queen. Are you bored? I can tour you around,” he offered.

I rolled my eyes at him then slowly walked my horse. I thought he would not follow but he suddenly appeared at my side and followed the walk of our horses. I glared at him.

“Did I think I needed Valdus? He’s there! Go to him and don’t bother me,” I shooed him away.

I’m not in the mood to talk to another kind of Valdus. And another. This one looks unreliable though, he was handsome. No. He can’t decieve me.

“I would like to but he was busy with Queen Alderie,”

I quickly turned to her. Busy with her? If so, are they still together? I gritted my teeth. What sensible person would just talk for that long? Especially if female and male? I clenched my fist and look away.

Just cheat Valdus and I will kick your balls. You can’t just disrespect and disgrace me like this because Mama and Papa raised me with self -love.

“Why does he have to take me to my world if that woman is there? Why do you all just leave me alone?” I spoke softly

My chest tightened again with so much resentment. I had so many dreams back to my world. That is why I did not marry any prince because I intend to stand on my own two feet. But it all fades when he came. He even hurt my parents with his selfish own preference.

“Because she’s my Queen,” she replied stopping me. I was about to ask him when he speak again. “She’s Valdus fiance but she was married to me. His Kingdom hated it since Alderie was the most perfect Queen for great Kingdom. Unfortunately, Alderie decided to marry me instead of him. That’s why you are here,”

“W-What? K-Then why did he just go to the palace and act as Valdus’ girlfriend earlier and why did you just let him?” I’m confused question

They’re surely had a very confusing rules.

He smirked at me. “You? Why are you letting him talk to my Queen?” He asked instead of answering me

It was as if I was stoned by his question. I get him. Why do I let Valdus talk to others? Because I know I have no fight even if I ban him if he wants to talk to Alderie. I bowed. That”s also the reason Ephraim so he just lets Alderie go.

This thing sucks. I am the Queen but I don’t have the rights to my King.

“But you can come with me Ameerah. Yes. You are his Queen but you have control. Let them enjoy their time and we will enjoy us,” he suddenly said.

I frowned at what he said. “What are you trying to imply?”

“Your majesty���”

Ephraim stopped Amber from speaking and smiled at me. There was the dark glint in his eyes again.

“Come with me Ameerah,”

I kept staring at him until I barely laughed. I shake my head. “I’m sorry Ephraim but when I did that. It’s like I imitated Alderie. I don’t want to hate myself Ephraim and I am a woman with dignity and raised with purity. Even if I hate Valdus. Things won’t change. He was still my King and I’ll only obey him, ”

“But he don’t look at you as his Queen. He’s disrespecting you!” pagpupumilit nya

“Yeah but I won’t let you lose my self -respect. I came from the great families of Filifia and Ihmapuleya. I was about to stop him when he quickly ran his horse away. His men followed him out of the palace.

“Greatness runs on your blood your highness. You inherit your parent’s beliefs,” Amber praised

I smiled at him then decided to go back inside the palace as Valdus and I met eye to eye. He was staring at me with his glowing red eyes.

“I didn’t inherit it Amber. It was my choice to follow their steps,” I said

There’s something flickered in his eyes but I ignore it. I ran my horse fast.

Chapter 6

Ameerah’s POV

I stopped playing the flute on the balcony where I could see snow falling from the sky as if foretelling rain because of the darkness.

I turned to Valdus who was looking at me seriously. My stare switches to the woman beside him staring at me with jealousy in her eyes. When I laughed, I averted my eyes from them and continued playing the flute.

What is it for? Why else would he come here with Alderie? Is he planning to hurt me and make me look like I have no right as his queen?

My chest tightened but I restrained myself from crying. Even my playing was affected because I made a mistake blowing.

“Ameerah���”

“What are you doing here? Do you need anything?” I asked coldly

I can’t even look at him. My mind was flying somewhere. Somewhere in my palace. If only Mama was here. He would never let Valdus treat me like this. She raised to be strong, fierce and strong-willed.

No promises must be broken. All rules must be followed. Fight for what’s right even if you’ll be going to deal with thousands of wrong people. Fight for what’s right even if they were much more bigger than you. Much more powerful than you.

Because it’s okay to die fighting the rights instead of living in a world full of lies.

“Leave us Alderie. We need to talk,” Valdus commanded seriously

I looked at where the two of them were. Valdus was still looking at me with those unusual red eyes while Alderie was gaping at him. Its eyes widen and there is a trace of resentment in it.

“V-Valdus���”

“Don’t mutter a word and get out in our palace. My Queen and I have something to talk to,” Valdus

Alderie gritted her teeth and gave me a dead look before going out in the balcony. So she was mad at me? What for? Because I’m the one Valdus married? This situation sucks!

“I heard everything you said. You should have tell me,” Valdus

I stared at him. “Tell you what? That hurts me because you chose your ex-fianc�� more than me? Is that it? You want me to boost your ego Valdus? Is this the life you want me to grow old? Bear your child and remained unseen?” My tears rolled down my cheeks as I looked at him. “I want you to know Valdus that I am a human. I don’t know what kind of creature you are! But please. Understand me. Stop disrespecting me infront of myself! If Alderie is what you want! Why don’t you just have her. snatch back from Ephraim and leave me alone! ” I shouted full of resentment

I got up from my seat and quickly wiped away the tears that had fallen from my eyes. I was about to pass him when he grabbed my arm.

“I’m not planning to surrender you Ameerah. I’m not planning to change my Queen. I don’t know how to handle a woman to be honest and I’m begging for your forgiveness. Sorry for being insensitive. I should ‘ve ask you, ”

My lips parted as I looked at him. His eyes were dark just means that he was sad and sincere. I can see right through him. He grabbed my other arm then I moved closer to him. His eyes were searching my face as if he was mesmerized by it.

“I don’t want to make the same mistake anymore Ameerah. You are my Queen. You are my woman. No way I will let Ephraim steal you away from me. I will never let him,” He rubbed my cheeks with the his fingers. I close my eyes as I feel his fingers on my skin giving a strange heat to my body.

“Wherever you go Ameerah. I will take you back,”

I opened my eyes and looked at him. His eyes were warm and … Did I just saw a light gray in his eyes?

“What’s wrong?” He asked

I blinked several times before shaking my head. I let him hug me and kiss my head.

“Is it okay for me to ask?” I asked

“What happened between you and Alderie? B-Why … did you let him go?” I will ask

That’s really what I wanted to ask Ephraim earlier in case he spoke again so I forgot. I felt him sigh.

I nodded at his story. “He thought that Valdus would give him a little attention in case he went with Ephraim but to his disappointment. He did nothing. That sucks,” I said with a grin.

This was the problem. Because he can’t be content with what he has. He was even more in trouble.

“I didn’t know she can be stupid like humans sometimes,” I laughed jokingly

She smiled at me, “She’s a human, your majesty,”

I stopped walking and my eyes widened as I looked at him. What ?! Is that why he seems to have been hurt earlier because I’m probably also a human being. She must have felt insulted.
