Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Another visit from Marcos on the previous night, and suddenly there was another party Jonathan had to pretend he liked to attend over the weekend. The young CEO had never been the kind of person who enjoyed social events, often preferring his inventions and video games as distraction and entertainment. ... Which didn't please his company's shareholders as they always pressured him to go to public events as a form of marketing, since every single smile coming from him was an additional boost to the stock prices, according to his secretary... "... Time to start another day again..." Mumbling against his pillow, Jonathan had no desire to get up, despite the alarm that kept ringing, annoying him as he had no way to turn it off since Marcos had changed the password of the simple system. Of course, it was easy for him to change while using his skills, yet the young man always forgets about it until the following morning, and little things ring through the whole apartment. "Gosh! Can't I just sleep until the time I want for once?" That weekend was supposed to be his day off, a way to force him out of his office since if Jonathan were left alone, he would stay there, creating things that weren't even in the company's plans during his free time. And while it was a good thing from the business point of view, that was also bad when related to the image they were trying to build about the desired bachelor. ... Jonathan wasn't only known by everyone due to his high position at such a young age. His appearance also drew sighs from many amidst his rare appearances in the media... But if he didn't take care of himself, everything would be ruined before it even started. So the alarm that used to work only on weekdays now woke him up no matter what, preventing him from sleeping late due to his online gaming addiction instead of resting when he went home. After all, the nights he spent at the office during busy periods were already enough to give him dark circles under his eyes, and Marcos couldn't let them get any worse. "Another day, and not a single pimple." Even Jonathan wouldn't be able to deny how attractive he was when he looked at himself in the mirror, and although he didn't like it, his perfectionist side soon helped the shareholders' plans. The worse part was that he could love this side when he was working, but it annoyed him when he thought it didn't allow one simple imperfection to show up on his body and face. ... Sometimes, he thought about having a beard, one of those perfectly symmetrical ones, but the thoughts of the little hairs growing in different rhythms bothered him drastically to the joy of the others who said it would completely ruin his image... Breakfast was already all prepared when he arrived at the kitchen, even though the young CEO lived alone. That was part of the facilities of the modern world he lived in, full of the most diverse kinds of technologies to serve a human being that anyone could even think of as a stove that did all the cooking. ... Two pieces of toast, butter, papaya with different kinds of berries, natural yogurt, and a glass of green tea, everything was there, ready for him, even if he hadn't done anything besides press a button on his cell phone after waking up... Many would have android servants for this type of service, yet, Jonathan wasn't a big fan of things like that, and the mere fact that they were too similar to a real person made him uncomfortable about having one in his apartment. He liked to keep everything simple, and he could already imagine the weird stories that would show up if he had one, that he refused it every time Marcos would suggest buying one or two for him... Yeah, he could be the youngest CEO of his country, maybe of the world, but it didn't mean he needed to follow all the trends people loved, just for them to buy the new products he had created.
