Chapter 11: Similarities.

831 Words
Autumn slowly passed, the cold wind began to blow into the school, blowing the fallen yellow leaves all over the path. Jina continued her quiet life, but there was one thing she couldn't get out of her mind: Jun Seo. He was no longer around like before, and that made her feel strangely empty. She tried not to mind, but the short conversations, the fleeting glances between the two of them kept lingering in her mind. In the following days, Jina gradually realized that Jun Seo was not simply an unsociable person. The feeling was vague, but it became clearer: he was avoiding her. She sent messages, but never received a reply. She found a reason to go to the campus where they had met a few times before, but there was no sign of Jun Seo. It was as if he had disappeared from her life, without any explanation. One afternoon, while sitting alone in the coffee shop where the two often met, Jina felt a sudden cold wind blow past her. She raised her head, and immediately recognized a familiar figure standing at the door. Jun Seo. But this time, he did not enter the shop, but just stood silently watching her from outside. Jina felt a little happy, but then realized that something was wrong. Jun Seo looked at her with a strange gaze, as if he was fighting with himself to get through the door. At that moment, that man, still looking the same, appeared beside Jun Seo, reaching out to pull him towards the car parked nearby. “Jun Seo, don’t do this anymore. You can’t stay here anymore.” The man said. Jina couldn’t hear every word, but she felt as if something very important was happening. Some kind of bond that made it impossible for Jun Seo to continue living a normal life. He didn't look at Jina again, just turned away, got into the car and disappeared into the darkness. Jina sat still, a feeling of unease rising in her heart. The man's words seemed to paint a vague picture of Jun Seo, but it wasn't clear. He couldn't stay here? He couldn't live like a normal person? Everything was getting too complicated. Jina's curiosity urged her to do something. She couldn't just stand there and wait, she couldn't let Jun Seo leave without an explanation. She needed to know the truth. Jina kept thinking about that meeting, unable to shake off the image of Jun Seo quietly getting into the car and rushing away. She started asking people around her about Jun Seo, but no one knew much about him other than what she already knew. She went to the familiar places they had been to, but nothing had changed. Jun Seo was still nowhere to be found, as if he no longer existed in this world. A week later, unable to find any clues, Jina decided to go to a place she never thought she would go to: an old house, hidden behind the woods, on the outskirts of the city. She had heard about this place from a friend, but had never dared to go. Today, there was a strong urge in her heart, an urge that she could not give up. As Jina approached the old gate of the house, she could clearly feel something strange in the air. The surrounding space was so quiet that she could hear the rustling of leaves under her feet. She moved closer, suddenly noticing a familiar figure standing inside. Jun Seo. But this time, he did not look at her. He stood there, silently, his eyes looking forward, as if waiting for someone. Jina felt a shiver. Even though she wanted to approach him, she felt something holding her back, an invisible fear. She watched silently, and after a while, the man from the day before appeared again, this time coming out from the apartment building. The man's cold and stern gaze upon seeing Jina made her feel even more uneasy. "You shouldn't be here," the man told her, without any concern in his voice. "Jun Seo has made his own choices. You can't change anything." Jina felt her heart tighten, but she stood still, saying nothing. The mystery surrounding Jun Seo, his silence, all of it made it impossible for her to leave without finding out the truth. A few minutes later, Jun Seo turned back, his eyes sweeping over her but not stopping. She saw a darkness in his eyes that she had never seen before. He said nothing, just walked away quickly, leaving her standing there, with thousands of unanswered questions. Jina remained still, but she knew in her heart that things had only just begun. There was no way she could give up, especially when the feeling inside her was growing stronger. Jun Seo was not an ordinary person, and she felt that she had to find out the truth about him, no matter how difficult it was.
