Personal space

I sat down on my desk, people were still shouting from the hallway. I don't even know why I ran away. He probably can't remember my face. But when his eyes locked with mine, for some reason my breathing hitched. I felt like I could not stand anymore, and all my feet could carry me to do was run back to class. The cheering ran down, "Hey, what happened there!" someone asked. I looked up at her of course it was Nickie, who else cared about my wellbeing in this school. "It was nothing!" I tried to avoid her gaze. "You looked like you had seen a ghost" she insisted. I looked at her again "Really" Then she giggled, "Or was he too handsome for you to bare" I knew her brain was always thinking otherwise. I rolled my eyes and pretended to read something from my book again, "hey don't act like you are reading something, were you taken back by his charm" I knew she could not give up. "Well people like him are just handsome on the outside but ugly on the inside, he is probably arrogant and self centered!" I said it all in one breath and a little bit angry. I tried to ignore the confused look on my friend's face as I scribbled something in my book. "Hey students" my head shot up, I didn't realize Mr Martins was already in class. He is our English teacher. An old man probably in his retirement age but chose not to leave work yet, probably because he still loved the paycheck. I sighed and turned my attention to the teacher pushing all thoughts of Victor away. But before I could concentrate better, someone knocked on the door. And yes your guess was right, it was the the self centered Victor O'Roberts.... Wait were we in the same class, why!? "May I?" He asked rather sweetly for someone who spat s**t last night... I should really get my mind off him. "Yes Mr O'Roberts, you can sit where you please!" the teacher stated. I looked at Victor and what the hell, he was looking at me. He started moving in my direction still looking my way, I looked away and squeezed my eyes shut. Why is he looking at me, why is he coming my way. Then I heard a seat being pulled at my left side, that's when it struck. I had an empty chair to my left. I c****d my head slowly to the left just to make sure I wasn't thinking a lot and probably this fool had sat somewhere else but not near to me, like right next me. I looked slowly, and there he was comfortably sitting on my left looking at Mr Martins sweetly like he didn't just invade my personal space. Okay not really my personal space because practically that wasn't my chair but still, we had close to five empty seats in this class, but he still chose next to mine. He turned his head only to find me looking at him. "Hi" he said like it was the most obvious statement in the world. †††† This boy had the nerve, not only did he force his way into my personal space but he also had the nerve to say 'hi' like were we supposed to be greeting each other. Maybe he did not really recall what happened last night. Or maybe he just didn't remember my face. Or he did but he was just such an a**hole. *Ding ding* The bell rang, my eyes widened. For how long have I been thinking of this Victor guy ... or the boy sitting right next to me. "And remember to do the assignment" Mr Martins said. Wait what assignment. And yes of course he made me fail to concentrate my entire English class. "Hey Victor" an arm passed right in front of me "I'm Nickie, sure you don't know my name" I blinked twice and looked from Nickie to Victor. Then to Nickie again, I raised my eyebrow and mouthed "seriously!" She shrugged and before I knew it Victor shook her hand. "And as it is you already know my name" he said with a smirk. They were shaking hands right in front of me, I couldn't breathe. I pulled there hands apart, "Nickie we have to go" I stood up, Nickie seemed irritated but packed her books in her bag as I did mine, "So little Miss Attitude, may I know your name" he said shooting me his charming smile. I scoffed and carried my bag, "Sorry but I'll pass!" and with that I walked out. "Hey!" Nickie called after me and of course as usual I continued walking, so she had to run after me and blah blah blah, you know the rest. "Hey what was that all about?" She said after we got our food and walked to the tables. We usually ate alone, as it is Nickie had no other friends at this school, and I of course had none, except her. Maybe it was my attitude problems. "Hey won't you talk to me girl?" She said waving her hands in my face as we sat down. "Do I need a reason for not liking a person?" I asked as I looked at her. "Duh, yes of course girl!" She looked at me with wide eyes, as though she just found out I was stupid for the first time. "Hey do not look at me like that, it's sort of irritating". And yes, it sure was irritating I was not exaggerating. It felt like she called me stupid with her eyes. That's irritating right? "Why should I not when you are giving me all reasons to do it anyway!" She stated. "Okay, I don't like that Victor guy I swear I can not tell you why but it's a good reason" "But the guy did nothing to you, he was just acting all nice and sweet, then boom you hate him" she said rolling her eyes. "I don't care I just hate him" I said matter of factly and shrugged. "Who is this person you hate?" Someone said, and it was none other than the person I hate. Why is he supposed to be everywhere. ††††
