Friend

I kept quite for a moment, who was this. Was I having a stalker, I froze at the thought. 'No more stalkers' I said to my self. Never want to experience that again. I took some water to calm my mind. "This is Victor by the way"_ Another text. I almost choked on the water I was having. "Your friend gave me your number"_ How dare she, I promise Nickie is going to be dead tomorrow. How could she give out my number just like that. I felt anger boiling in my veins. She knew I hated Victor why could she. I get, my hatred for Victor makes no sense to her ... But still, she's my friend. "Hey, I'm sorry but I think I gave out your number to Victor"_ Nickie texted me. I called her straight, and she picked up. "You dead meat, Nickie!" I told her anger boiling. "I'm sorry" she said "And here you are with, you think you gave out my number, seriously 'you think?'" I shouted at her She hung up on me, how dare she. "Say something"_ Another text from Victor. **** I walked to school in silence, my mom did not come home early so I left before she arrived to offer me a lift. "Hey" someone called me, this time and for the first time it was not Nickie. And surprisingly I stopped ... For the first time as well. "What do you want from me?" I asked as I turned around angry. And he only threw me a smile. "How are you?" He greeted as though we were long term friends. "Look I do not want your greetings, what do you want from me?" I was more than pissed at this point. "I just want us to be friends, girl chill!" He stated "I'm sorry but I'm not advertising for friends" I snorted and turned to leave. And sh*t he grabbed my wrist. "What on earth do you want?" I whisper yelled and he just laughed. Like what's funny. "Look I'm sorry for that night, can't we just be friends!" He said with a smile. And he brought it back, I could not stand him anymore. "Look, my life was doing much better before you crept in" I sighed and continued, "please stay out of my life, I'd appreciate it better if you were not there" I held my hands together in a pleading manner. There was a minute of silence between us and then he said, "okay!" and he turned and left. I felt a pang of sadness in my heart, I felt disappointed. I think apart of me thought he'd pester me a little more. Wait did I still want him in my life. I shook my head to push those thoughts away. I turned and walked to class. I found Nickie inside already, I sat down next to her. "Hey, Rose I'm sorry for yesterday" she turned to me apologizing. Yesterday?! Oh I had completely forgot she served my number to that fool, anyways he was out of my life so no need to be angry. "It's okay" I told her and she hugged me with a smile muttering a 'thank you!' As we pulled apart, Victor entered the class. We caught glances for what felt like a second before he looked away. He turned to go find a seat and to my surprise, he didn't sit next to me. I followed my gaze to where he sat, and what the hell. He sat next to Cleo. †††† I felt bad, I did not know why. Pete and Griffen entered afterwards into the class, their eyes roamed around the room and found Victor. Right next to Cleo, I hated it because I could see them very well from where I was seated. Pete looked at me and mouthed a "hello" which I replied with a smile he mirrored. They both went and took their seats in different places. I do not get why these three friends never sat together in class. The biology class went on as usual, it was rather disturbing for my side. I kept stealing glances at Victor who was obviously not bothered by sitting next to Cleo. A part in me hurt but the other part, the sensible one, told me I should not be bothered. *** The bell for break rang and Nickie started preparing to move out. "Hey, sup with you?" She asked and I turned to look at her. "What?!" I asked confused. "I thought you would be happy when Victor leaves your personal space, but you kinda look sad!" She looked surprised as I was. "No, I'm just thinking of home, my dad has not slept home in a week. And now my mom slept out yesterday" I said. For God's sake mom, dad forgive me for using you as an excuse. But I think it worked, Nickie hugged me by the shoulders. "I understand, but don't worry your parents will get around soon" she reassured me. I guess someone *cough cough* Victor.. caught on her statement and our situation because he looked at me in a weird way. Nickie was hugging me comfortingly and saying comforting words about my family. He must have thought I have problems at home. He looked at me as I avoided his gaze and pulled from the hug. "Thanks, but we need to go now" I said I organized my books and stood up. Nickie followed suit and we moved to the cafeteria. We sat down while having breakfast. "So what did you say to him" Nickie asked out of nowhere. "Huh?!" I asked confused. "Oh!" She realized my confusion, "I mean Victor, he's been avoiding you today." She continued. I smiled "That's how such boys are, they loose interest easily" I said and shrugged clearly skipping all the details. She looked confused now "For someone who asked for your number yesterday it's weird" she said. I shrugged which she mirrored. *** We moved back to class after break, I'm glad after all this I'm having a normal school day again. Not worrying about finding some dude sitting next to me. As I entered, I looked to Cleo's direction, and there he was, the handsome hero of the school. He was laughing at something Cleo and her friends were saying. The moment I looked at him, his eyes met mine. We looked at each other for what felt like minutes until Nickie tapped my shoulder. "Hey" I turned and looked at her, "you are kind of staring" she said with a giggle. I felt angry, why on earth was I staring at Victor. When I looked back at him, he had a smirk on his face. ††††
