  Rane's POV   The moon was high in the sky, casting a soft white light over the forest. Leaves rustled quietly around me as I ran through the trees. Every step I took was careful and fast. I had a mission from Lord Ugarh. A serious one. I couldn't fail again. I had already messed up once, and I didn't have time to do it again.   In my hand, I held a sealed message. I pulled it close to my chest. The parchment was marked with Ugarh's crest. It glowed slightly, a sign of the blood magic sealed inside. It was dangerous. If it fell into the wrong hands—especially the foxes—everything Ugarh planned would be ruined.   And it would be my fault.   I ran faster.   The trees opened up a little as I got closer to the ridge.
