Ugarh POV
I walked through the stone hallways of Betmor Palace toward the Elders' chamber. My boots echoed with each step, and though I was calm on the outside, I felt curious. What could the Elders want with me now?
When I entered the grand chamber, the Elders stood and bowed slightly.
"Welcome, Lord Ugarh," Elder Bram said.
"Thank you," I nodded. "You sent for me?"
Elder Mira stepped forward, her long robes brushing the floor. "We did. But worry not, it's nothing alarming. We only wish to thank you for your service to Betmor. Your leadership these past three years has been strong."
Another Elder, Jorim, added, "We are proud to stand behind you. The kingdom prospers."
