THE TEXT

How was it even possible? When did this happen? Or is this some kind of imaginary dream? Aviva couldn't think straight at moment as she stared at her picture with Jace on the TV screen. But they never even spoke to each other, talk more or less of taking pictures… so what was all this? Aviva snapped her head backwards like a flash when she heard soft giggles from behind “I actually expected that cause I know my brother too well” Josie tilted her head backwards a bit when she saw the expression on Aviva's face. “Hey what's with that look? Haven't you come across an edited picture?” Josie scoffed and when she didn't get any response from Aviva, she rolled her eyeballs saying “I guess the answer is yes”. “You're not in school today? Why?” Aviva asked politely which was the only thing that came to her mind other than the shocking pictures. “Well all thanks to you, I got myself grounded” Josie growled lowly as she fell into a couch beside Aviva. “Grounded, buy why?” Aviva was only trying to get along with the girl and it seemed to be working out, not until… “Gosh you ask too many questions, leave me alone Josie snapped and brought out her pink color iPad. Aviva was about to speak again when the girl suddenly screamed “What the actual f**k! 15 missed calls? This motherf**ker won't leave me be!!” Josie was the perfect definition of an angry bird judging from her facial expression, anyone would gladly testify to it. It was a boy that had been stalking her and she didn't like him that much. “Can you believe this? 15 missed calls from…” She paused halfway when she lifted her head and noticed that Aviva wasn't there anymore. “Oh… She's gone” She muttered to herself “Well whatever” She shrugged and walked away. Earlier, Aviva had left the living room because she received a call from Liana. She needed some privacy for her crazy talk with her friend. She sat on the couch after positioning her phone in a perfect place for video call. “Congratulations baby girl! Your wedding's in two days time… Whoo!!” Liana exclaimed while spinning around dramatically and Aviva couldn't help but laugh. “Those pictures are stunning, I couldn't believe my eyes amigo, I doubted if that was you at first but when I saw your dashing prince, your striking, statuesque, well built, majestic and impeccable man… I knew that this was my lady bug” Liana ranted on and on in excitement. Seeing the way her friend was ecstatic just by hearing the news, Aviva decided not to tell her that it was an edited picture. She wanted to enjoy this cheerful Liana while it lasted. “You both are all over the internet, #Latest Youthful And Elegant Couple, I'm so proud of you Viva” She smiled widely and Aviva forced back a smile. “Thanks Lia” She managed to say. “I'll leave you to your Adonis, take care baby sis” Liana said and hung up. Almost immediately, a text popped into her phone, it read ‘ENJOY YOUR LIFE WHILE IT LASTS’. Aviva's heart immediately sunk into the pit of her stomach as she viewed the message. She quickly checked where the message was coming from and she realized that it was an unidentified number. She looked around and even stood up to check outside from the window but she didn't see anyone. Aviva became seized by a restlessness new to her heart as she slowly clutch unto her chest. Who could it be? And why was she receiving such text? While she was still pondering deeply about the text, another one popped into her phone, causing her to jerk slightly in fear. ‘Was the task successful’ Thankfully, this one was from Connell. Aviva breathed out heavily in relief as her pounding heart settled a bit. ‘I didn't get to see him last night’ she texted back and dropped the phone beside her, resting her body on the couch. Swiftly, night came and everyone was seated round the dinning table except for Jace. Aviva did not ask anymore about his whereabouts as his parents seemed comfortable with it and besides they'd give her the same response as the previous night. “How have you been Aviva darling? Is there anything you'd like us to do for you?” Mrs Hilton smiled warmly at the quiet girl and Aviva only shook her head in response, unsure of what to say. “If so then don't hesitate to make a request whenever something's bothering you okay?” Mrs Hilton added and Aviva's nodded. Abruptly, Josie dropped her cutleries and stood up the next second. She fixated her gaze on Aviva and said “Mom how could you do this to my brother? Of all the whole ladies out there you decided to pick this gabbage for Jace? That's so unbelievable of you mom and unfair too!” She snapped loudly and left before anyone could utter a word. “Gosh that little brat, she wouldn't learn how to tame that mouth of hers! Seems like I'll have to teach her myself!” Mrs Hilton berated but Josie was long gone. She quickly turned to Aviva and held her palm softly, “Don't listen to her dearie, she's just being paranoid” “Not a problem to me, I don't take things to heart” Aviva's face immediately contorted into a fake but convincing smile. “Thanks for the food, goodnight” she added and stood up to leave when Mrs Hilton spoke. “Make sure you sleep early darling, you'll be going for your wedding shopping tomorrow” She informed and Aviva nodded before leaving. Time passed by with Aviva laying down on her bed lost in thought about the earlier text and also what Josie said. Half of her response to Mrs Hilton was true and the other was a lie. Of course she didn't take what Josie said to heart, seeing that the girl was just being amateur and trying to fight for her brother. But then on the contrary Josie was right, maybe she's not the one meant for Jace Hilton, maybe everything that was happening was a big nightmare and then one day she'd wake up. She soon became exhausted and was about to sleep off when the door opened.
