Curious bunch of reporters outside were all on alert, waiting for Aviva to step out of the building and when she did, they rushed her without hesitation. Hazel, Henry and Martin were not surprised to see the bunch of curious reporters, in fact they expected it sooner.
Aviva was going through a concussion of emotions, disdain, hurt and surprise were the mixture of what she felt at that time.
“Good afternoon Miss Walker, how do you feel about getting married to the top-most successful billionaire in the world”
“Do you think you deserve him?”
“Are you happy?”
“What do you think will be the outcome of your marriage”
Multiple questions from different reporters was thrown at Aviva all at once, sounding more like noise to her ears. But only one question sticked to her head, ‘Are you happy’. She couldn't really tell if she was happy or not, after all anyone would die for such an opportunity but why was it different on her own end. Aviva had already answered the first question inwardly, of course she didn't deserve Jace Hilton and besides she barely knows him. But she never asked for any of this neither did she request for being the wife of a billionaire.
But then again she couldn't do much to change her destiny, could she? Fate had tossed her into the life of Jace Hilton and she had to leave with it, rather than losing her mom.
“I just hope for the best” She struggled within her before she spoke out, her voice shaky and uncertain.
“Don't you think it's weird that the oh-so-famous Jace Hilton wants to marry all of a sudden and it happens to be you?”
“Are you both in good terms?”
“How long have you two known each other?”
“Do you love him for himself or his fame and wealth?”
“Why did you decide to get married to Jace Hilton?”
“Don't you think the Hilton's only accepted you into the family as a solution to a certain problem?”
Another group of hilarious questions came at her in full force, not giving her enough time to think of a suitable answer that won't be used to blackmail her in the nearest future. With each question, the reporters drew closer to where she stood, like she was some food that held the key to their empty stomachs. Aviva had never thought about these questions that she heard from the reporters, she was busy hoping for her mom to survive that she didn't look into the reason why such wealthy and prestigous family would easily accept her as their only son's wife. Could it really be for some solution to an issue or did they sincerely want her as a daughter in law. Aviva shook the thought off her head, she trusted her instincts that she was getting married to Jace for better and not for worse
The reporters short interview with Aviva had traveled miles from where they stood as it was already being published on the internet. Everyone from all over the world was watching the nervous Aviva at that moment including Jace.
“This b***h really pisses the f**k out of me” Alissa scowled, her eyes glued to the projector in Jace’s office without looking away.
“How could your mom pick such a pathetic human for you to get married to?” Alissa spat again after few minutes of no response “Does she really hate you that much?”
“Give it a break Alissa, can't you see that Jace isn't interested in your opinion” Connell glared at her hardly and she scoffed.
“This is me being sincere Connell, I can't help it… I mean take a look at the girl, it seems like she's gonna cry any minute from now” Alissa mocked as she fell into the couch.
“Just shut the f**k up Alissa, you're being a nuisance” Connell furrowed his brows at her. “Jace don't really care about what you say, can't you see?” He added with his gaze on his friend.
He was right, Jace didn't spare Alissa any glance as he was completely focused on the system before him.
“It's not about Jace, the girl is just pathetic, a lowlife and classless b***h” She spat, rolling her eyeballs at the screen.
“Are you any better” Was Jace cold yet threatening response that made Alissa swallow down hard. He wasn't really defending Aviva, he only got fed up with Alissa’s sauciness or so he told himself. Maybe he couldn't stand her talking trash about his fiancee.
“B…ba…baby are…are you comparing me to that b***h?” Alissa stuttered in a low tone, not wanting to upset Jace.
“He meant to say that Aviva is far more better than you are” Connell smirked at her and finally relaxed his on the couch.
He was proud of his friend, Jace defended Aviva from the poisonous witch.
“Babe there's a party at Fremont hillside tonight, please be my date” Alissa smiled awkwardly pretending to not hear what Connell said and also trying to switch topics.
“I'm not interested Alissa, stop bothering me” Jace replied blatantly and returned to his work. This time Connell wasn't ecstatic because Jace turned Alissa down, he knew that even if it were to be someone else Jace would still decline.
They had known each other for many years and even up till now. Jace was all about work, work and work. He'd always say no to parties, hanging out and many other fun activities. But when it comes to business, he was all in, he never missed any meetings nor went late to work. He was overly dedicated to his work even if he had more than enough money. Connell didn't blame him, instead he felt for his friend and normally there's a reason behind every way of life. That was Jace's way of living, a fun deprived way of life but Connell didn't give up either.
“When you've got my time, call me” Alissa said curtly and left.
Nova who sat there in silent all those while stood up and walked over to Jace, with a soft smile she said, “You look stressed out, should I order you some takeouts?”
With a low tone Jace answered, “That'll be great Nova thanks” And with that she left.
“You should attend the party, Bridgette's also going to be there” Connell advised but Jace was silent.
Shrugging it off, he spoke again, “Now back to business Jace” Connell drew a chair closer to him and his expression became more serious and focused.
“What is it this time? I have a lot on my table right now” Jace leaned back on his chair as he stared at at Connell with raised brows.
“Don't you think it's time you tell her about the others?”
