Chapter 11

728 Words
Chapter 11 It was finally over. Damon and I walked hand in hand to go around his kingdom and help the people in need. Although the people were still scared they were now happy. “Sofie, I was thinking. We should go meet your parents now. Queen Madeleine and King Philip,” I looked down. I don't know if I was ready to rule and meet my real parents. “Sofie, it's going to be fine okay? I'll be there with you. You’ll make a great queen” I sighed and we decided that the next morning we would leave for the capital of Angeles, ‘Vivir’. I woke up at the break of dawn, I wore a long sundress and did my makeup and straightened my hair, surprisingly it actually stayed still. We rode Arion towards Vivir and there I saw the castle, It was bigger than any I’d ever seen. Twelve large golden, towers surround the castle, they reached twice the height of the walls and were connected by fairly high walls made of obsidian. Refined windows were scattered thinly across the walls in a seemingly random pattern, along with symmetric holes for archers and artillery. A vast gate with wide metal doors and hot oil pots guards the only entrance to the castle build at the edges of a shoreline, but it's not the only way in, but it'll be your best shot if you wish to conquer this castle. Small buildings, houses and other structures populate the grounds outside the castle walls, homes for the poorest of the poor. This castle looks very new, but without knowing its history it's impossible to tell if it's a newly build castle or a well kept one. We landed in front of the metal gates and all the soldiers welcomed me. I heard light excited whispers from all around me “Oh is that the lost princess? The one who united the 4 factions? She's beautiful!” I gave a light smile to everyone and headed on inside. The soldiers guided us towards the throne room and when the doors swung open, there I saw my parents on similar thrones, both the same size and had the same colors, both of them were white but lined with gold structures. My mother or the queen ran towards me and pulled me into a tight embrace “Oh my daughter! How I have longed to see you all this time!” It was honestly very awkward but I hugged her back. My father walked towards me and said “We have missed you very much, we know it must’ve been very hard for you to comprehend. We are sorry for everything that we’ve put you through but it had to be done for the kingdom and you and we are very proud of you. Please forgive us for what we put you through and for not meeting you earlier.” I just smiled at them as I didn't want to harbour any evil or devious feeling because I’ve had enough of those for a while. They brought me to the dining hall and there we sat there for hours talking about my childhood and life back on earth. “Those were the days... When I used to get up late, Never cared about the day and date. All I ever did was play With building blocks and molding clay. Now I keep stumbling to find a way To bring back my childhood days. Used to write the alphabet With white chalks on a slate, Waved a silly goodbye every day To the dog roaming in front of my gate. Now I keep stumbling to find a way To bring back my childhood days. Near the corner of the park, at the end, We fought tiny wars with our friends, Were so carefree, never had to pretend, Had all the food in lunches our mothers would send. Now I keep stumbling to find a way To bring back my childhood days. Though it's impossible, I'd like to try To press a button and go back in time. Far from the business of loss and gain, Away from the feelings of grief and pain, To be that naughty girl once again, To live that good life once again.”
