Chapter 6

~On the way to the Kingdom of Honestum~

“Sofie, We will now be heading to ‘Honrado’ the capital of the Kingdom Of Honestum”

I nodded and we gathered our stuff and and I took my newly acquired bow. We then said our final goodbyes to the Queen and left on Arion.

It was about 8 in the morning and we rode on Arion till about 10 when I started to get tired. We then slowly descended.

We landed in the middle of the forest and dropped out stuff. I stared at my bow for a while when Damon spoke up. “Would you like to learn how to use it love?” My eyes widened and I smiled. “Can you?”

He nodded and grabbed my bow. I tried to shoot an arrow to the tree, It was almost there but my shots weren’t clean. “Here let me help you” Damon exclaimed.

He slowly walked behind me grabbed an arrow, and slid his hand into my right hand which held the handle of the bow then he slid his left hand into my left hand and we both tugged the beautifully sinewed string and pulled it back in swift motion and raised the bow.

He then softly whispered in my ear “Shoot”

And I shot it. In my surprise it hit right in the middle of the tree. I jumped happily and he smiled.

“You’ve got it in you princess” he winked.

We then headed towards the town. We rode to the castle of the king and through the same process, we entered the beautiful castle and the guard guided us towards the grand courtroom. I noticed my surroundings to see that this castle was much more conserved, it was colored in a light blue with gold unlike in Lucrus where the castle was plain white. This castle gave a different vibe as if everything outside is different than what's inside.

We entered the courtroom and there in the end of the hallway was a handsome middle aged man, sitting on the throne, he was wearing a white robe with gold patterns on it. I walked closer to the throne and wished.

The next moment, I found myself in his thoughts. It looked the same as Queen Fantine’s thoughts but it had a different and more troubled feel to it. I could sense strong emotions of lust, humiliation and rejection of love. I immediately wondered that how, such a brave and desired King could incorporate such emotions. “Sofia” someone faintly whispered from the side. With some hesitation I turned to see a ghost-like structure of Queen Fantine heading somewhere. Queen Fantine? What is Queen Fantine doing here in King Antoine’s thoughts? I ran towards Queen Fantine and then I heard King Antoine confess his love for her. King Antoine loved Queen Fantine? I looked over to see Queen Fantine's reaction and she looked disgusted by this confession.

She immediately took action and rejected him with these exact words “Love and all emotions that come with it are a scam. Antoine... You don't know what you feel, but I am am very sure it isn't love ”. She then walked away like nothing happened and blind to King Antoine's feelings. King Antoine looked heartbroken and was at the edge of a breakdown. He gulped and stood up like nothing happened, ignoring the humiliation, he walked out of a courtroom full of stares. He fell in love with Queen Fantine when she was struggling with her own mental health. I felt bad for the King. After that incident, there was a sudden change in the attitude in the atmosphere. It was no longer love and care but lust. It felt like King Antoine was scheming to get close to Queen Fantine but in the wrong ways. This made Queen Fantine even more angry, leading her to ban the King and the Kingdom of Honestum from The Kingdom of Lucrus. This event caused more humiliation and added to the King's weight.

I suddenly felt like I was being pushed into King Antoine. I squinted my eyes hard till I was no longer being pushed. Slowly and with ease I opened myself and found myself as King Antoine. I could feel his lust, humiliation and heartbreak. I could feel how now over the past years, he has developed a strong lust to conceal his emotions that he feels are ‘unmanly’. I was here to somehow stop making him feel this way but I had no idea how. I wished for help and I rolled my eyes and smirked when I saw the 3 fates appear.

“You look stuck, dearie. We are here to help you, like always. Wear this bracelet and then you can not only control the king's thoughts but also control his movement. Good luck dearie” they said as they vanished into the thin air. I looked at the bracelet, it looked enchanted, It was made of a golden chain and had 4 beautiful peach colored pendants which were shaped like petals on it. I didn’t think twice and immediately wore the bracelet. I felt a sudden sense of power and control come towards me. I decided to take King Antoine to The Kingdom of Lucrus.

~At the royal courtroom of Lucrus~

I could feel the King confused and hesitant about his actions. A drop of sweat trickled down his forehead as the Queen turned heads to him. For some reason, the queen didn't seem mad at King for disobeying the ban rules. She just lightly sighed with relief. Infact I could see the small smirk the queen gave. She walked towards the King and slowly grabbed and held tightly onto his hand.She looked around the courtroom and lightly whispered into my ears. “I love you, thank you for coming back.” were the three words that came out of the Queen's mouth. I could feel the sudden positive impact of these words on the King. So does this mean the Queen loved the King from the start? Did she reject his love because of her own issues, I thought.

This certainly caused the King to kill his negative emotions and once again I was successful in vanquishing the evil from the good.

“Sofie” said Damon as he covered us in a black cloak. The moment he removed the cloak we weren't in the King's thoughts anymore. We were back in The Kingdom of Lucrus. I knew it because of the special scent this kingdom had.

“Sofie, you have once again vanquished the evil in the good. Good Job. ” he smiled with care. Then he had a sudden moment of tension and he said “Don’t forget that you still have to cross the Gate and vanquish darkness from the evil rulers and make them good again. The hardest part has yet to come but don't worry love, I'll be there for you.”

I was getting worried but then I noticed that the sun is about to set soon. Damon always leaves before the sun sets. I wonder if he’ll leave me again.

The King then walked towards me with Queen Fantine who had come to The kingdom for Honestum with her teleportation powers.

They walked towards me their hands entangled into each others and then King Antoine said “Oh Sofia, we don't know how to repay you for all that you have done for us. We have decided to hold a Masquerade ball in your honour and to celebrate us, Please accept our gratitude”

My eyes searched for Damon but I guess he had gone off again

Queen Fantine called out to her maid and said “Victoria, Please take out guest to and give her the most beautiful dress in Angeles”

The maid then took me aside to a huge room with a huge mirror in front of me, and then from the side she brought out a enchanting gown, It was a beautiful light pink color, it was netted from the outside with careful embroidery of light pink flowers on it, Inside was an light pink cotton off shoulder dress. The net went over the silk and covered the base of my neck, On my waist was a silky ribbon with diamonded long broche. I couldn't believe it, I looked majestic. Another lady came in and did my makeup, I had light makeup on with a nude lipstick. I was given a pair of light pink heels. Together, It all went to well and it was wonderful.

Victoria then handed me a light pink mask which went only over eyes. It was lined with white pearls. She then guided me towards the ballroom and I could already hear the busy crowd from outside, The doors opened for me and I walked onto the base from where the two stairways split, There stood the announcer and he asked me what my name was. “Miss. Sofia has now arrived” The whole crowd turned to me as I walked down the stairs. My eyes again searched for Damon.

I stood alone in the middle of the crowd, I could feel stares coming at me from all directions. I looked down waiting? I'm not sure.

Suddenly I heard a familiar voice call out my name “Sofie” I turned to see Damon? His eyes were red though his aura was darker, but then just for a moment I saw them flicker back to hazel. He wore a fitted dark blue suit, with a white shirt and a dark blue tie, His hair was swept back. “Sofia, You look..you look beautiful” I was about to ask him about about his eyes when he suddenly said “Sofie, would you care for a dance?” I turned to him surprised “Dance? Oh no it’s okay, I don't know how to dance” He chuckled and said “Just follow my lead” just as I was about to step back the song “At last” started to play. He smiled and held my hand and led me to the middle of the dance floor and I put my hands around my neck and he put his hands around my waist. We slowly started to sway to the beat of song.The lines “I found a dream, that I could speak to , A dream that I can call my own” started to play and I pulled back to look at his face and saw him staring back at me, I saw him glance at my lips and back to my eyes. He slowly started to lean in and I moved forward and our lips lightly met. I realized what we were doing and slightly tugged away. I looked up to see him with a slight smirk and saw that his eyes were still red but flickered a few times. Then I asked “Damon... Your eyes..” He then pulled back and pushed me away slightly he clenched his jaw and ran towards the entrance. “Damon!” I tried to run after him but then “Come on Eileen” started to play and Queen Fantine grabbed me and started to dance. I smiled and decided to forget my sadness and the thought of Damon running away. But Damon was different this night,

“Restless was he and his face was blue

Dreadful was he with his never-ending woe,

His mind is perplexed who and what to follow

He never had a chance to grasp hope, even tiny
