Chapter 4

I has been approximately 3 hours and the view, it never gets tiring. Then I notice that we had slowly started to descend near the outskirts of the forest. “Hey princess let’s get you down.” He hold my waist and gently puts my down. I stumble a bit and then stand properly only to see Damon smiling while looking at me. “What?” He then cockily replies “For the second time, You’re cute.” I clench my teeth.

“Okay princess. Let’s get you some food.” I sigh and reply “Look I know i'm a princess and all but like my name's Sofia”

“Okay Princess Sofia”

“No just Sofia”

“Okay just princess Sofia”

I angrily give up annoyed at this amazingly beautiful man. I plop down waiting for him to get something out of his bag but he does nothing.

“What are we waiting for?”

He laughs and says “There’s nothing in my bag. We are hunting for food.” He then pulls out a beautiful gold plated symmetrical dagger, with a hilt made of glass. He then gives it to me and says “Lets go hunting Princess”. I didn't like the idea of hunting at all but, I wouldn't want to look bad in front of Damon too. Without hesitation, I firmly took and held the dagger. Damon told me to start small. He stood close behind me and held my hands and we sped into the woods. He jumped and it seemed like I magically jumped with him too and then took a sharp right turn. We came storming down from the sky and then the dagger went right through a cow. My first prey was a COW !? “I told you, you had the hunter in you, love” said Damon smiling. We took the cow back to our campsite and Damon told me to rest as he cooked the beef steak. The sun slowly hid behind the mountain. Right when the sun was about to completely set, Damon whistles, Arion arrives and Damon hurriedly forces me to ride Arion and go to ‘The Kingdom of Lucrus. He then hands me some Reals and says “ I'm sorry Princess but you’re on your own for a while, use the Reals to stay in a Inn in the kingdom for Lucrus for the night and I promise i'll be there in the morning” Before I could ask him to explain Arion started to fly and my screams slowly became too distant for him to hear.

After half an hour, we arrived in the Kingdom of Lucrus in its Capital ‘Bueno’ We landed in a quiet place in the side and suddenly someone spoke, “Go on ahead you’ll see the town right ahead” I whipped my head to the direction from where the voice was coming “Who dat!!?”

Then it spoke “It's me Arion you dumb girl”

I gulped down “You can speak?”

“Of course I do foolish girl, I am a child of the gods”

Deciding not to engage in more conversation I nod and head to the town.

It was a bustling town, very similar to the one near Damon's manor, but this time it was more colorful and there were colorful lights in the sky.

I headed toward a lady and spoke “Hello, Excuse me, Ma’am? Would you know where the Inn is?”

She nodded and told me the directions.

After about 5 minutes of walking I reached the Inn and payed them 2 Reals for the night and headed on in the rooms. It was a very simple room with a small window and green curtains with a small bedside table and a queen sized bed with green sheets. I grabbed the shorts and a large T-shirt from my bag and put them on. One good thing about this magical bag is that whatever I put inside the bad will still weigh as light as a feather.

I then slipped into the sheets and drifted off to sleep.

~A few hours later~

I wake up to the birds chirping by my window and stretch... I hope Damon is here by now. I make a mental note to myself to ask him where he disappears off too at night. I take a shower and choose dark blue jeans with a black crop sweater which said ‘iron maiden’ and grabbed my cloak. I then decided to head on downstairs.

It was a very crowded in Inn almost all the tables were filled with happy guests eating and drinking but then I heard someone call out to me “Princess! Here.”

I turned my head to direction the voice came from. It was Damon, I went in front of him and sat on the chair. I ordered omellete and coffee. Then I decided to question him about the events that happened last night.

“So where did you go last night?”

He then sternly replied “Sofie... You’ll know when the time is right, I’m sorry I can't tell you, but we must hurry and meet the queen.” I noticed that he had changed the subject but decided not to pester him.

I then spoke up “Okay I get that we’re meeting the queen but you know she's the queen how do we meet her? And how exactly do we vanquish her darkness?”

Damon looked confused “Well we go to her castle and meet her, in this world it is very easy to meet your ruler as the people are what make the ruler. As for the darkness, we’ll see about that when we meet her.”I then grabbed my bag and we rode on Arion towards the castle.

The castle was huge it had four strong, square towers piercing the sky are the first you'll see of this castle and are connected by huge, stones, it had a vast gate with 2 gigantic metal doors, but something about it didn't feel completely happy and right. The ‘Kingdom of Lucrus’ means the kingdom of lights but something about this Kingdom was dark. We then tell the guard we would like to meet the queen, I was honestly very skeptical of Damon saying that we could meet the queen but the guards seemed to follow what he had said, He was taking us to the queen.

I step in a long hallway, I suppose this was the courtroom? I see huge man-sized thrones covered with red velvet. It seemed like the throne was made in gold as I saw the lights from thousands of windows shine off the gold.

And there in the center I saw the glorious queen and without realizing I smiled, and she smiled back.

Always trying to bring joy to others even when you can’t do it for yourself

And keeping them close in mind

One who can pick up the small pieces of her broken heart

And carry on as if she was never hurt in the first place.

When talking about this woman I can’t help but smile”
