JIMIN
I sighed as I got out of my car. It has been a full day for me and I'm exhausted as hell. I don't even know of I can go do the live stream I was told to do.
"Ya, Jimin. I'll go ahead, arasso? Choiza has a dinner meeting to attend to so I need to head home asap."
"Sure. Just text me my schedule for tomorrow."
I went up to my unit. Just days ago Sulli told me she saw Chaeyoung come out of the unit next to mine. I asked the reception and they said a Byun Baekhyun lived next door. A doctor who lives alone.
"Aigoo Jiyoungie. Don't throw you bottle jinja..."
I held my breath as O heard a familiar voice. I ran towards the elevator and held out my hand to stop it from closing.
"Chae..."
A pair of innocent eyes looked up at me. She was carrying a baby bag and an infant while trying to pick a bottle on the elevator floor.
"J-Jimin!"
Silence. I look over at the infand playing with her hair.
"Um... would you like me to carry the kid?" Great at being awkward, Jimin. Why'd you call your son 'kid'?
"A-Are you sure? I'd like to refuse but, I'm carrying a lot of this and Jiyoung's kinda being a brat right now..."
I nodded and immediately took Jiyoung from her arms. It's a good thing I always carried Minji around.
"T-Thank you." Chae picked up all the stuff she dropped and fixed herself. The elevator door opened and we went out.
I followed her as she pushed the stroller--which had groceries in it, towards a familiar direction.
Sulli was right! She lived next door! But why was it named Byun Baekhyun?
"Please come in," she said as she opened the lights and removed her shoes.
I looked at the interior and it wasn't screaming Park Chaeyoung. It was very... musculine. Like it was really a man's.
Could it be... he's her boyfriend?
I felt a light smack on my head. Jiyoung hit me. He was looking at me like he's mad or something.
Looking closely at the kid, he doesn't look like me--aside from the cheeks. Neither does Chae.
Again, he hit me.
"Jiyoungie!" Chaeyoung exclaimed. It seems she's done putting the groceries in the kitchen. She took him from me and scolded the poor kid. "That's not nice."
"It's okay, Chae. He's just a kid," I assured her. Her cheeks turned the shade of pink. She got flustered. Just like before. "Annyeong Jiyoungie. I'm Jimin."
Jiyoung raised his arms towards me. It's like he's telling me to carry him again. His hands even opened and closed.
"First he hit me. Now he likes me?" I chuckled. "Weird kid."
I took him from Chaeyoung.
"You want to play?" Jiyoung clapped. "Arasso. Let's play over there."
I carried him towards the living room where a playing mat was placed. This kid's like an energizer. One minute I was tired to my bones. The next I'm here playing with an infant like a lunatic.
Chaeyoung however was busy cleaning up. The place was in shambles when we got here so I'm guessing she's taking the opportunity to clean up.
Jiyoung was a happy kid. His cheeks swell up like a chipmunk when he smiles, just like how Chaeng's would. His face would also turn the shade of pink when tickled.
His eyes...
They were like mine.
"I'm so sorry for bothering you with Jiyoung..." Chaeyoung sat in front of us. It seems she's done with the cleaning up. "I know you're a bery busy person and you--"
"He's mine right?" I blurted out. I needed answers. She was shocked. "I'm Jiyoung's father right?"
"A-Aniyo. Jiyoung is Baekhyun's son." She answered straight.
"So you were seeing a different guy while we were together?"
Her shocked expression suddenly turned into a furious one.
"What?!" She spat. "How dare you say that to me where in fact, you were the one who cheated on me!"
"I never cheated on you!"
"Nice try, Park Jimin," she said on gritted teeth. "You're the one who knocked up Sulli while we were together!"
"I didn't! I told you before, I won't have any child other than yours." Then realization hit me. "You left because you didn't trust me, didn't you?"
She looked away. I scoffed.
"You never did trust me."
"I did!" Chae started to cry. Jiyoung hit me with his baby bottle. "But that night... that night Sulli called I picked it up 'coz I thought it was an emergency. She kept yelling and saying it was all your fault and that she wasn't ready to be a single mom. A part of me was mad because it confirmed the rumors that you were the father. But a big part of me didn't want a child to be born without a father so I chose to leave you 'coz you wouldn't have any choice but to assume responsibility--"
I pulled her into my arms. I was right. She wouldn't leave me for no reason. She wasn't like that.
"Shh... Stop crying, Chae."
"You still cheated on me and had a kid with someone else--"
"You got it all wrong." She looked at me then blinked. "I'm not the father."
"Then why was she saying it's your fault she got knocked up?"
"Well... it was my dad who got her pregnant. I introduced her to him while we were fooling around..."
Chaeyoung's mouth flew open. I can't help but chuckle to how cute and clueless she looked.
"I didn't know you took that call." Truthfully, I didn't. But Sulli did scream and punched me when I finally showed up in her house saying it was my fault she met my father. "That's the only reason why you left?"
She nodded.
"Then..." I looked over to Jinyoung who was looking at us ans clapping his little hands. "You didn't leave because I got you pregnant?"
Her eyebrows furrowed. "Ani. I never got pregnant. Jiyoung is Chanyeol and Baekhyun's son!"
"What?! Chanyeol...your childhood friend?!" She nodded. "And Baekhyun... the doctor who owns this unit?"
Again, she nodded. "I'm staying here to babysit for a week since they're getting hitched in America."
"But they're both male--"
"And is there any problem with that?"
"No but... how can they produce a baby?"
"Baekhyun's sister died giving birth to Jiyoung so he adopted him."
My mouth flew open. Man, I thought wrong. I'm a bit relieved but also disappointed. I really do want to have a family of my own.
Silence fell between us. Jiyoung threw his bottle at me.
"Jiyoungie!"
The kid just giggled, fell on his back the rolled. Chaeyoung smiled and carried the little guy in her arms. I couldn't help myself from laughing. She looked at me.
"Chae... if it's not too late... Can we start over again?"
