The apartment was quiet, save for the faint hum of the refrigerator and the occasional creak of the old wooden floors. Isabella sat cross-legged on the couch, a blanket draped over her lap and a steaming mug of tea in her hands. Outside, rain pattered softly against the window, mirroring the storm inside her.
