Chapter Fourteen
“Is it over?” Laura asked. She would never admit how disturbing she found the doctor’s visits or the great wave of relief she’d felt when excused from the proceedings.
“For now, yes. I want her left alone a few minutes. I’ll go back up and check on her then you can serve her the tea.”
“I hope it’s not brewed too long.”
Beau removed the lid from the pot and smelled the steam that rose, “The stronger the better. This is fine. You should have enough ginger and the vials to last the week. Keep track for me how she’s doing, just like we do at the hospital. Make sure you get her up and out of that bed every day and take a walk.”
