Lucy growled as she watched them go. “Joshua,” she turned to the dark lad who was just emerging from behind Thomas. “Go saddle Bonnie. I’m going to write a note and I want you to take it into town. The first group of our boys you see, you give it to the man in charge, you hear?” Lucy retreated to the house and wrote the note as quickly as she could.
