I spent time with my dad before I went to the counter to pay all the bills. I'll hurry since it's evening. Lucian and I were talking about my need to get back.
I talked to Dr. Castillo about papa's surgery because I wasn't too confident about leaving without settling everything. "Doc, you'll take care of my dad first."
"Why, Ms. Reyes? Don't you wait until after surgery before leaving?" he wondered.
"Ah, doc, I have to go. "My boss asked me to stay late."
Can no one watch even your friends? Because surgery can't proceed without a patient's guard."
"Someone else? - Wait, doc. I'll call someone."
"Come on, please come to see me in the room dad what the weather will be like."
"Yes, excuse me." I turned away at the same time.
I got out of the hospital to get a call. A few others have answered the other line.
"Hello, Celest? What's wrong and you suddenly got called?" Caleb's threshold. He's my friend from high school and he's also my friend most closely with dad so I'm sure he won't be able to say no.
"I would ask you a favor if you were free tonight until morning." I don't flow anymore.
She briefly fell silent before answering. "Yeah. It's not that I'm in trouble. What is it?"
"Maybe you can't do it right now?"
"Huh? How could you say that?"
"You answered for a long time."
He laughed. "Huh? No, it's broken. I'd have looked at my schedule if I didn't do anything right now," he defends. "So, what is your favor that you ask? Except for money, I'm not there." Laugh together.
It's dad. No one would watch him while he was on ER for surgery. I'm already working, so I can't stay at the hospital for long periods. "I was just getting baptized because of an emergency," I explained.
"How is that? Can't you please ask your boss?"
"Why? I thought you could be right now?"
"Eh, Celest, not that I refused. In that regard, it's always nice to be there. I'll go with you but your dad will certainly look for you when he awakens and he sees that I was there rather than his son."
Suddenly I thought of what he had said. "I know that, but my boss has given me a lot of favor. He had my best surgery. That's why I can't change it."
"Who is that boss of yours?" He was obviously impressed by the tone in which he asked me.
"Lucian Montecarlos." I still have second thoughts to tell him. When I applied, he stopped me when he learned that I was going to enter the Montecarlos.
"Huh?! Lucian Kael Montecarlos? I thought you wouldn't go on entering that monster anymore?" he shouted in the other lane in surprise. I don't know, but he seems to be really mad about it.
"You're terrible for a monster. "He's not like people talk about," I argued. It's not that I'm defending him but based on my own experience he's not like that. I wish that Lucian wouldn't have done that first thing.
"You're not defending him, are you?"
"Look, I'm not defending him, okay? I'm just telling the truth." I drew breath. "OK, that. I'll explain it to you later. Right now, I need you. So go, please?"
"Alright, you say that ha. I'll just dress up when I get there.
"Yes, thank you, Caleb. You're the best."
"Tsk. Come on."
"You must be careful!"
"they will protect me."
"Oh, yes! "You're always so proud." He turned off the call at once. As the call came down, I was just blown out of the air. "That guy's very picky."
I had no choice but to make a choice.
I returned to the hospital and sat on a long bench in the hospital hallway opposite the reception desk so that Caleb could see me right away.
While waiting, I think at the time of the entrance. About an hour had passed but he was still away. He has not come yet. Was it dark and I was sure that my boss had been waiting for me to come back. I'll even help him clean his private office inside the mansion.
I'm restless. People were looking at me for a while because I was just like a worm that was being served for walking back and forth.
"Caleb, where are you?" i whispered.
"Ms. Reyes." A familiar male voice called from behind me.
I stopped at my place. When I saw Lucian standing up and not knowing how angry I was, I appeared and felt as though I were being taken into custody.
But I quickly recused myself to explain my reasons. "S-sir, sorry. Dad has surgery. I'm just waiting for the friend I asked to come over to watch because it's not possible that no one will be watching, the doctor said. But he's not there yet, so I can't come back."
He did not speak. He just looked at me cold.
He just opened his mouth to speak, and suddenly someone called me. "Celest!"
