Jake’s(P.O.V)
The look on Raini’s face when she seen that it was me when she opened her
eyes was almost too comical. When she jetted out from under me like that, I
wanted to ask her if she was on fire. But I knew better than to for fear of
pissing her off or embarrassing her more than what she was already. It
amazed me that Neo took force like that after she played into me like that. He
could smell the saltiness of her tears before I could. “Mate is hurting!” He road
in my head just as he took over. Pushing me back to revel in my own thoughts.
I didn’t know any of what she had reviled to him. I was such a dumb ass. She
loved me, like was in love with me, and had been for a long time. I smiled at
myself, as I watched Neo groom her. I knew what I was doing was wrong. But
I felt like I did not have a choice. Father said that I could not tell anyone,
because it would put all who knew in danger. And of course, he put his foot
down when it came to Raini. Not that I would disagree with him. I could not
put her or the ones she loves at risk. He knew from our very first meeting that
we were fated to each other. I however didn’t realize it until I was twelve and
we had the annual Alpha meeting at our pack house. I don’t remember much
of her before then but mom and dad said we were inseparable since we were
babies. I remember the first time I had seen her years after it was so clear. I
fell in love with her head first in that moment. Flash Back: “Now boy all the
Alpha’s are bringing their sons to this meeting. Be on your best behavior. I do
not care what the other children are doing nor how they are behaving; you will
act as the Alpha pup you are.” “Yes papa,” I answer. I went to go stand in the
foyer with momma until the others arrived. One by one Alphas from the region
began to show up. Momma and papa greeted the adults and I greeted the
young Alphas. When we were greeting what seemed to be the last one, I heard
a bit of his conversation with papa. “Alpha Ski and his daughter will be here in
less than two minutes then we will get situated and start.” Papa told the other
man. “ That is just wonderful,” the loud man boomed. “I so hope we all remain
in alliances with one another. It would be a pleasure to have Raini be mated to
one of our sons. Think of the possibilities.” Continued the man as he walked
away. I looked up at papa who was only smirking at momma. “If he only knew”
she said looking me in the eyes. Feeling jittery I began to fidget on my feet.
“Papa why is a girl coming to the Alpha meeting? Is she in line as an Alpha as well?” I looked up into my father’s gaze. “Alpha Ski is bringing Raini because it
is her right. You know that not all Alphas are men. A woman can lead as well.”
He answered in a brass tone. I didn’t think that they couldn’t. Shoot it was just
the first time I had ever seen a woman was taking the Alpha line. I mean sure
you hear about it in packs histories. I was about to say so but just as I was
going to speak up, we could hear the popping of gravel from the driveway on
tires. Chilled erupted up my spine. I shook it off and determined it was just
because I was excited today. Momma and Papa, took to their spots by the
door, I went to the window to get a better look at Raini before she came in.
watching as the Beta came around and opened her door for her, I first seen a
shoe. This was it the moment of truth. She moved away so that the door could
be closed and I swear time stood still. She was utter perfection. Long black
hair that came just past her waist, big curious green eyes. Holy Mother Selene
She was beautiful. My momma was calling my name and I was to wrapped up
in looking at this angel from the window. “Jacob Allexander Mason, son what
the hell do you not hear your mother!” dad said a small chuckle in his voice.
“Ben, he is just loved struck. You cannot sit there and act like that is not how it
was for you when you first seen me? You even drooled.” What that can’t be
right. This perfect beauty is my mate? Is that what this feeling was. Amazing.
Alpha Ski came into the house with Raini Running behind him. “JAKE!!!!”
came the scream. In all the ruckus the other Alphas children looking around
the corner, and just in time to see my very own angel embrace me and kiss me
on the cheek. “I have missed you, So much.!” Her innocence made me feel bad
that I did not remember her. We all prepared to follow papa into the
conference room. I beamed with pride to see all my comrades mean mugging
me due to the princess I had holding my hand. That’s right boys eat your heart
out she is all mine I thought to myself. We sat through the meeting and not
once did Raini let go of me. As it was ending Mamma came into the room to
let us all know dinner was served. “Unfortunately, Alpha Mason me and little
Raini here need to be on our way. You see we have my mates mother coming
and I wish to be there to greet her.” Alpha Ski spoke. “Very well,” responded
my father, “It was a pleasure as always.” I watched as she and her father
waked out the door and leave. I was suffering in sadness until the group of
Alpha boys made their way to me. “Dude!” said one of them. “That is your
girlfriend? How did you swing that?” I was bombarded with question after
question and I answered every one of them with pride. She was mine, forever.
