(Nick’s P.O.V.)
We had ben sitting in the front of the Opal Moon Pack house for about thirty
minutes now, I was not sure what to do because after Daimen( yes, I call him
by his real name, just not Infront of others) mind linked me about telling the
Luna his secret I noticed he had put up a block. Due to the separation in the
cabs, I was not sure if they were still talking or if they were up to something
else. Knowing what I do I was pretty sure it was the latter. Those two have
been wanting to rip each other’s clothes off for years, no there is nothing to
stop them from doing just that, so I knew it was just a matter of when.
Genuinely I am surprised it hasn’t happened sooner, one could always see the
attraction was resent between the two of them. I mean intersex friendships
were hard as it was but Raini’s beauty surpassed even that of Selene herself.
My first time meeting her was all those years ago at the young Alphas
meeting. I was miffed that Jake called laid claim to her, I thought to myself we
will see about that, but after how I seen Raini greet him, I knew there was no
way to even gain her attention the poor girl had hearts in her eyes the size of
baseballs. How Daimen was able to suppress anything s****l for her is
always going to be a mystery to me, gone were the days of her innocent
youthful look. Now, Raini had grown into her own. Long black hair, always in a
messy bun, I mean she was petite, five foot at the most, but had a full
hourglass figure. Alpha mind linking me pulled me out of thoughts of the
moment. “Beta Nick, why the hell does Jake have a block up and what are you
all doing just setting in the drive way like a bunch of idiots, I think it best that
you all find your way into the house this instant?” s**t, he sounded pissed and
I didn’t know how, or of I even wanted to answer that. “Uncle Ben, I believe the
Luna needed a few minutes,she seemed a little upset when we were leaving
Obsidian Pack so I believe that Jake is trying to talk to her and calm her
down.” Sounding as casual as I could I answered, he probably had the same
thoughts I did those two were doing about as much talking as a one could
with a tongue down their throat. Goddess, I hoped he belived the half ass
bullshit I was telling him. He responded almost immediately; “Is the Luna
taking the news bad? I mean she grew up here, this is her home away from home, I didn’t think it would be too terrible for her to be the one to marry
Jake….” He tried to sound as if he knew nothing of the bond those two shared.
He knew damn well they were fated, and that Daimen was no way in hell going
to reject her. I don’t have the slightest clue why he is like this with me, hell I
am one of the few who know the whole truth and it was Alpha Mason himself
who told me. “ Alpha, I will let them know, I don’t think it is bad per say, just a
bit much thrust on the young Luna all at once….” I said, then realized I needed
to give an excuse so he would not become suspicious as to if Jake told her
the truth just yet. Everyone who was aware of the reality of the situation knew
he wanted to neutralize the threat first. “You know leaving her friends and
family behind, I can say with certainty she was ok with the wedding and treaty
agreements, I am assuming the fact that he is her best friend and knows
everyone here will treat her well put her at ease.” I let the words marinate
through the mind link. Not giving any other explanation. Ms. Molly informed
me she was going to go ahead and head into the house. So, she opened the
door and hopped out. Waiting until she was far enough away from the car, I
knocked on the glass separating me and them. Next thing I knew Daimen
growled so loud the car shook and the windows blew out. Including a piece
of the window separating us. I just laughed it off, that was until I seen he was
shirtless with his pants in the process of being taken off, and poor Raini
looking ashamed in the seat beside him. “Dude, we have been home for thirty
minutes your dad is bugging out. Not to mention your growling just blew the
windows out of the SUV, so now he is looking out the foyer at you. So, get out
of the car and take it somewhere more private like your room.” Still chuckling
to myself I got out of the car, waled around, and walked right up into the house
to go to my room on the fourth floor. I was not about to have any part in the ass
chewing he was fixing to receive for literally having been caught with his pants
down. I waked in the door to be greeted by Uncle Ben. “Uncle, good afternoon, I
take it your trip back home last night was peaceful.” I said a knowing smile
playing on my face. Aunt Ali would have had his head if he had stayed there
with us. “Yea, Nick, it was, do you want to tell me what the crap was happening
in that car?” Uncle Ben knew I was not going to tell him anything and he wasn’t
going to make me. So, I bowed showing respect and decided it was time for
me to disappear so that my best friend could have an excuse to finish what he
started in the car.
