CHAPTER 6Carlson was typing at his desk when Manning walked into the city room of the Tannersville News for the second time in fourteen hours. It was quite early in the morning and the sunlight was bright on the desks and chairs and copyracks giving the room a more cheerful aspect. And this time Carlson did not greet him with a raised forefinger and continue typing.
