Lily spent the whole evening thinking about what Ethan had said during their walk home. Normally she could push her thoughts aside and focus on something else, but not this time. His dream. His plans. The way his face lit up when he talked about the future.

That night she sat at her desk with her notebook open in front of her. She had planned to write, but after twenty minutes the page was still blank.

Her heart warmed.

She placed her phone down and lay back on her bed.
For the first time, she wasn’t confused about her feelings.
