She could think of many things yet this one in particular will always come back to her. Distractions are not effective. They only make her thoughts return in full force. What I am trying to announce is her desire for knowledge that goes beyond herself. From early childhood onwards her mind has been drawn towards the unknown and figuring out the unknown. Again and again she can do this. She often questioned if others wanted to do the same. Her questioning was met with clear answers, but actions speak volumes and she knew to view the actions with high regard. Through observing their movements and deciphering their character she concluded she was not alone but rather she had many friends who shared similar interests. She immediately felt delighted and encouraged to work with them. Maybe they could learn together and become best friends.
Friends are more than people who you can laugh or poke fun at. They are at the heart of what makes life fun. If you need better people in your life, then who do you turn to. Forget about your family. Family you do not get to choose, however with friends you do. You get a golden token and can wave in front of anyone’s face if you care to, then you can pick a friend and stick with them or not. What more you could you ask for?
She never quite understood what she was meant to do as a friend. All of her friendships were made as she went along with life, and she treated them similarly to how she treated her family, which probably was not for the best of things. Her family advised her, and her friends did the same. But she could not have known any better because she obviously was different. Even if she did not know it yet.
Her day began just like previous days before. Nothing out of the ordinary so far. Nothing to worry about because everything is a-okay. Except for her growing problem: him. Him and her are not good friends. They are friendly with one another, you know, pleasantries in the hallway, mutual friends, her helping him with assignments and whatnot, but aside from that they never did anything else. In fact they were on opposite sides of the world. At least that is what she thought. He is the typical high school boy: sporty and obsessed with anything other than her. She is the kid who is stuck in a book or doing anything to get away from him and his crew.
Her mind begins to filter her week so far. Monday was a bore. Tuesday was a drag. Now Wednesday is here and she has something to celebrate.
