“Your mate seems to be in a bit of trouble,” drawled Horse. He chewed the end of a chop bone before spitting it out on the ground. “You didn’t mention he was a Captain.”
“His business. Anyway, he has done nothing wrong,” replied Bean stiffly.
“Yeah, but when did that ever save anyone if they decide to go for you?”
String nodded tensely, “He’s right. I knew this was a bad idea. We should never have come here. Now we’re all going to be arrested. Oh dear… oh dear…” Suddenly he sprang to his feet and ran headlong into Danton who was just returning with a flagon. “Did you see?” demanded String with more than a tinge of hysteria, “They’ve got Harkell.”
