For good measure, he walked another ten minutes before stopping. Then he veered off to his left into the woodland and doubled back quietly along the side of the track before taking up position behind a large oak to watch the track and check that he had not been followed. He waited for a long twenty minutes and was just turning to head further down the track when a voice at his shoulder said, “Looks like you weren’t followed then.”
Harkell started violently and swung around to find Twig Snap standing beside him, grinning. He blew out a breath and smiled in return, “Hi Twig Snap. It’s good to see you. I was hoping one of you would make contact with me.”
