“Good. Remember, Raka may appear to be a man, but he is no longer human,” Arka said as he pressed the center of the compass and placed a blessing as he hummed a tone into the Shamir.
“This is what the alarm sounds like.” Arka pressed the crystal at the center of the compass.
Albert listened to the melodious sound, but Johann looked puzzled. “I don’t hear anything,” he said. Arka grinned. “That’s because the frequency is tuned to Albert. It wouldn’t be much of a warning device if Raka could hear it, would it?”
“I guess not,” Johann said, rolling his eyes at his own naivete.
“What should I do if Raka comes near me?” asked Albert.
