Jimmy was still sitting at the table in the ballroom, taking in the room. He had attended the annual Christmas Eve parties at the resort for as long as he could remember. Jimmy had missed a few when he skied competitively, but that was not by choice. If he could have kept his competitive ranking and missed these races, he would have. The medals and trophies didn’t mean that much to him, but spending that time with his family and friends did.
